i cant wait to see how much your times increase with WMI.

also wha were you 60ft, 1/8, 1/4 and terminal speeds in comparison with DJs. im interested to see where the strong points of each car are

Owens - http://www.crailraceway.co.uk/show_times.asp?CarNumber=7&RunDate=20100620&RaceID=987

12.958 @ 115.1mph

Owen got an amazing last run in his car running on fumes - it all came together for him in the end, and he totally deserved the time  :). I was behind him in my car when I saw him go to the start with several short bursts up to the line to heat up the tyres, a wide line on the track away from the usual line, and his car burst off the line at an amazing pace. He had been texting and calling on Saturday night when he was out practising with his new gadget which measures accelaration by GPS (something I will need to borrow from him when he goes offshore next), and his runs got better and stronger as the day went on yesterday. I am genuinely delighted for Owen :)

My best time was via a 2.219 60 foot start, terminal speed of 115.1mph vs Owens 2.118 60 foot start and terminal speed of 112.8mph.

I have never managed a 2.11 second 60 foot time - big respect on that one. Looks like a combination of, lots of practice, good technique, an amazing launch and Owens new R-1R's did the trick.

I was using brand new tyres yesterday which had never turned a wheel until a launch on the 1/4 mile, and it was only by the end that they were in some sort of decent condition for launches at which point my car had all DanGB and Jo's gear (up staying with me on holidays), my own two spare wheels and kit as well as a few things from some other cars, so they never really got a proper chance by the time I had done the demo runs in the MK2 LCR. I was surprised by my 115+ mph runs considering my new brakes which are 1.5mm too wide, were binding slightly, but then again the car was lighter than last time to the tune of almost 50kg with 22kg of that being rolling mass.

I expect Owens WOT box may well be tuned to change quicker than last time too (never asked him, but I am sure he will advise), and he will be used to it where last time he wasnt. He also had a racing seat and a Twintercooler over his last trip down.

My Revo settings were Boost 9, Timing 7 and Fuel 6. In hindsight, maybe I should have used timing at 6 as it was quite warm.

As it happens, Owen and I both have out WMI kits today, so next time will see a run with Boost 9, Timing 9 and Fuel 5. Not sure how much difference top speed will be, but I need to improve my launch as Owen has prooved it can be done, and perhaps speed up my gearchanges, maybe by way of fitting a WOT box (slippery slope time again )

how does his 60ft time compare to hurdys with hurdy and jabba lad. they did their with track tyres but have dsg well.

ow come his terminals are so much down on yours though, that is a pretty largedifference between the two especially considering his faster start. shame youtwo never got to do a side by side.

pretty surprised you havent got the WOT box yet. where do you buy them from, i might start having a look:help:

What tyres did you have on then mate, of all the tyres ive had ive found they normally take about 100 miles to get any decent grip, my toyo T1Rs were terrible for about 400 mile before they were grippy. will never buy them again after that, i thought my car was broke, it understeered so badly after initially fitted them.

Im contemplating a change to REVO now. but i i do it will be for a stage 1+. I want to run the std exhaust system, but do everything else to it-HPFP, Intake, Intercooler, WMI, WOT box- and see how that runs. Ill remove the precat out of the std DP though.

@owen, how much was it to fit the WOT box and where did you buy it?

You two should be up near the top of the leaderboard soon i think, i reckon hurdy ill be #1 on his next run with his plans the crazy git lol

@ Sy , got my WOTBOX from statllers, it was only £150 for the part but around £200 to fit as it is very time consuming. i would recommend it 100% for a 4wd car not so much on a FWD car, yesterday i never used the launch control once as i feel i can do better myself, VERY happy with a 2.11 60ft time. pretty sure thats as good as i could get but maybe a sneak into the 2.0* next time i hope

In my opinion my GIAC car has more low end grunt the allen's revo car but his makes up for it on top end, thus the reason for allens ballistic terminal speeds. This said my terminal speeds with be in excess of 115 next time for sure

P.S i am hoping to do some testing this week with my WMI kit once fitted so you will be first to know Sy

Owen, we have started a new thread regarding the next Pod meet over on the Mk5 forum. I know you were keen, so we've organised it for the 22nd August, how you fixed? :funk:

I will come with you Owen, but not driving my car down that far unless I need to get work done which hopefully I dont.

Edit - Owen, I am on holiday. Assuming my TB pipe comes, we could look to install the kits in both cars one day/night if you want.

:funk: looking forward to this, If it turns out to be very good, ill very likely be going for another software change:help: and then WMI.

before and after logs are a must though to see the real benefits

My 60' time was 2.27 and a terminal of 111mph. With a 12.904 time

Next time out at Bruntingthorpe on Saturday, I should be in the low 12's and 120+ terminals:whistle:

Owen just successfully tapped in to an injector for WMI, and we will be logging it in the next hour or so......

:funk:

I just ran a 12.895 quarter mile trapping at 114.3mph in my stock turbo 2008 Leon Cupra in South Africa. Anybody here know of any faster times ?
