You change you head unit as the OEM one is shocking only to find that the radio reception is worse as the aerial amplifier is in the headunit on the Alana.

i cant see y everyone finds it so hard to get all the wires in :S i've have 3 different headunits in mine.. 2 single dins with no problems to fit on the top part with all wires and 3RCA wires aswell.. and a double din which i did have to cut the plastic from the back to get it in but thats only cuz where the wires come out was right where the plastic was lol other than that its an easy thing to do

The standard Alana radio is a joke. It's got some good hidden features, but sounds crap.

It's a shame too, because the standard radio in the Leon & Toledo sounds amazing, that's the Aura.

Can't remember off the top of my head, but I think if you press and hold '3' it repeats the track. Press and old '4' to shuffle the current CD. Press and hold '5' to shuffle and play any track of a random CD in the changer - things like that.

All in the manual, but after using these forums for three years now you notice that hardly anyone reads the manual. :)

I do find it funny that the stereo has these features, but they aren't printed on the stereo anywhere. So you look in the manual, think you can remember them and next time you use it........hmmm, I'll pause the CD........oh, it's now gone onto random........how do you get it off random..........now it's doing a track scan...........aaaaarrrrggghhhhhh!!............think I'll leave them functions alone.

You know you have a MK4 Ibiza when... you give up trying to keep your alloy wheels clean and when your AC dies after 5 weeks.

You change the suspension only to find in the process that you've got a broken coil spring on each side (front).

Changed my suspension today, in the process found both front coil springs had broken (which also explains what I thought was a spanner falling out under the car a few weeks ago).

Judging by the rust on the broken ends, happened way way before the the last MOT, suprised it wasn't caught.

I did this at the weekend, must be the worst car I've had to install a headunit into. No room for wires and the HU was a pig to get out. Plus I have to mess about rewiring the ISO connector.
