DPF Delete problems again!!!!!!!!

just being a mechanics mag and found the following, looks like diesel emissions tests are coming in the near future

If it does become part of the test it will not be retrospective.
I.E. it will become part of the test for cars from a certain date, in the same way you cannot expect a 1989 mondeo to conform to the same emission regs as a 2009 Leon

Who knows what date it will be from though, it mite be cars from early 2008 which include some of the dpf removal cars now. Anyway it was just giving the heads up

I know that the place I work is due for a new gas analyser early next year and it is not one of these. This machine will last 5 years I think. So maybe after that, then you have to get all stations to buy them. So gonna be a while would say

VAG did come out with a Ceramic coated sensor?? [ high failure rate on AUDI]- this should have read across all VAG Marques - mine failed just after its service and was replaced under warranty.

Loving dpf delete power.

After coming home from up north today, and for the majority of my journey being at a standstill in bad weather, i finally came to a bit of semi-dry road, a few miles down the road i had an alfa romeo 147 GTA up my bumper, and then undertake me, all im going to say is the look on this guys face with a black smoker pulling on him was golden!!! I am lead to believe the GTA is a potent car as well? Was just going to ask who else has surprised others in there cars???

I'm happy that the de DPF is going well but all the same I reckon the mods will scrap this thread due to the street racing nature of it

Still got EML light on guys, but doesnt seem to effect performance, apologies as i don't mean for this to be taken as a street racing thread, in all honesty the thread was to promote how good i feel the removal is, managed on a 106 mile journey 48.4mpg driving at 50-80 generally on A roads. In some stop start traffic due to the snow

I'm due to get the update in the 2nd week of january, so will be good to get the light off the daqsh, i still wonder to this day if there is any power loss? But i can't see it because well it just feels rapid! But yeh the update is shortly

Still EML on!!!

After getting some helpful advice from custom code, after my dpf delete a few weeks ago, and my EML light coming on due to the EGT sensor fault, i was told the EGT needed replacing and could not be mapped out like first suggested, so i bit the bullet and bought a new 1, custom code had said it was a piece of p**s to replace, which it was, went to reset the fault code and the fault is still showing and the EML light will not stay off? Custom code told me there is only 1 EGT sensor with 2 identical lambda probes along the downpipe, so we replaced part for part and kept my old 1? Is there another EGT sensor in the exhaust sytem? As maybe i have replaced the wrong one? But custom code did say it was an individual looking sensor in the downpipe? After spending £106 on a new sensor i hope it's something silly i have done for the fault not to go away!!! But i am not sure.. ANy help would be appreciated guys

ANyone experienced the same sort of thing guys? Could it be that when my mate tried to clear it he hadn't drove the car to register the airflow? Or could it be that the multidiagnostic he used was not able to switch it off and perhaps vagcom is needed? I'm major pi**ed because its £106 ive just spent

DPF delete trouble

As i have posted before, straight away after getting my dpf delete done, the engine managment light came on, i got it put on diagnostic, and showed EGT sensor static fault bank 1 sensor 2, phoned up custom code they told me these sensors are common to go, had to buy a new sensor at £106!!!! Got my mechanic friend to fit it for the old one, tried to clear fault and still on! I have drove the car for a couple of days and attempted with the diagnostic a couple of times now to switch it off, and it is showing the same fault with the brand new part? Custom code told me there are 3 sensors, in the downpipe, 2 lambda's and 1 egt, the egt is the one that looks different to the other 2???? So it has been replaced at my cost and still an error? What is going on!!!!!!

I don't think it is a sensor fault -
AmD found that on certain ECU's (mine included) there are some extra files relating to the DPF that cause issues which are very well hidden.
