I was gonna buy a polo back in 2006 when I bought my car but they only just boguth out the new shape and I couldn't afford it and did not like the older shape.
Well if I had the money to spend I would get a uprated clutch and flywheel and FMIC and then stage two map and get the bodywork fixed (bonnet respray and wing obviously) but the money if for deposit and I do not fancy a loan.

I can only think that the wing has been painted/had work done to it at some point. And it's been left in damp conditions before it's been painted/primed. I dont get how rust would get in like that otherwise! It's come from the inside out by the looks.

Hope you get it sorted soon! The bodywork shouldn't rust because the shells are galvanised from factory.

correct me if im wrong but vw group cars have a 10 year corrosion warranty.......

Seat should be fixing it for free!!

yes corrosion warranty of 12 years is for rust from outside in they tell me so will pursue it fir a while then maybe think about new wing, £80 is that trade price I assume?

I have a thread in off topic about this http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=289166&highlight=rust and other have posted up with rust pics but theirs is around the p pillar plastic trim and the front door sills. Seat have told me different thing everyone I speak to and claim cos I do not go to them for service they are not interested and I am not loyal to the Seat brand. May gather all my receipts for Seat genuine parts I have bought over the year and show them how loyal I am!

Well I cannot say if the old owner had a new wing he only had it for 2 years, the front bumper had poor paint on it thou primer showing through in one place so maybe in a prang but I don't know?

Aren't lupo gti slow compares to my car thou?! I don't think I could have a smaller car than ibiza and they only make fox's now not lupo and wouldn't want an older car than I got now if I did change.

Didnt these cars come with anti corrosion warranty from new? It is 12 years now not sure how long it was when your car was released. But it's worth trying to make a claim.

er read my last post, easier said than done getting that paid for!

Erm no Dean this is for repair only according to the quote, think it will be cheaper to get a new wing and get it done elsewhere if I have to!! New wing £80 think Adam Kelly said.

Thats a ridiculous quote.

I got the whole of my passenger side done in May. Got a large dent removed from the rear quarter and all the smaller ones removed from the door and the wing and it only cost me 340 quid.

That was by a VW trained/qualified body specialist who now owns his own business and I am really impressed with the job.

Dont know if it helped that he is into his Vag motors aswell.

opps my bad it looks like it is a new front wing it confused me as it said corrosion protection as well, wing it £100 labour is £236 (too high IMO)

Yeh but not happy with it was impossible to not have creases really was as it does not smooth into the dips where the grab handles go. Think I may spray the grey one ans stick it back on but cba for about a year now lol! Next mod bonnet struts and lamin-x rear lights I think.

that Lamin-x (subtle tint) looks good.. myt think of doin tht to mine too.. how much do ya reckon u'll need 4 ur rears aimez?

You need to write to the right people and warn them that the Ibiza's are getting a bad name because of this on the biggest SEAT forum going. Threatening them is the only way.............

What else can I do though going back to the dealer to see the warranty guy when I I get around to sorting a day off and it is up to him. There is no email on seat website and I already called the number on there no point filling in the from is there they will jut tell em to go to dealer to have it accessed for warranty claim.
The guy on Sat said it was wrong the other garage told me oh it's 3 years on paint and did not put it forward for corrosion claim thou.

So RRP for a wing is £89.89 bought for £76.48 he has marked up to £101.82 basically.

Will have to get the parts people at work to ring TPS who we have an account with and see if they can get it cheaper than that!

Definetely try TPS for parts, they are much cheaper than the dealer.

When I bought my Mk3 Cupra backbox I got it through TPS as the garage I use have an account with them, it was £140 for it from TPS but first they phoned the dealer and they wanted £250 just for the backbox.
