Not alot happening at the minute

Going to Nurburgring next month so saving for that now :D

Other than that im looking for new wheels now

Really begun to hate the ride quality of the car just lately and i think its down to the 17" wheels with the 205/40 profile tyres.

Roads in my are are crap and its just bang bang all the time and its starting to do my head in now

Has never bothered me much but after having a drive with some 16's and 195/45 tyres the ride was a million miles better.

Same with my previous car, went from 195/45/15 to 195/40/16 and the ride quality was completely destroyed

Not sure what wheel yet though, maybe just standards in anthracite i think.

Also trimmed a few of the intercooler pipes to reposition them a bit better

Next i need to cure the small water leak coming from the turb line but i need to drop the turbo down again to get to it.

Small update time

Had the car in bits today (again!)

Half removed the turbo to redo the leaking oil and water lines

While im there i noticed the gear cables had melted even more than before, the last thing i want happening at nurburgring is problems with that.

So tomorrow im top mounting the gear shifter inside the car and running the cables through the bulk head to prevent any more heat damage!

Ill upload pics as i go along :)

What do you mean by top mounting them and running through the bulk head? Did you exhaust heat wrap the linkages?

Oh wow! That looks really good - I assume the gearknob itself sits a lot higher than OEM. Great idea though.

I just removed my first heatshied and then heatwrapped and cable tied the wrapping on nicely.

It does sit higher yer (from what ive read people say its in a better position for driving) but ill soon find out if it is or not.

Once i get a short shifter kit it will then bring it slightly lower than how the oem one is.

Not too hard is it! Now you see what I mean about being a much better position

It was fairly straight forward once started yer, exhaust etc was all of so was easy to get out

Hardest part was getting the cables back in the bracket on the gear box, the hole in the bulk head is pretty much the same place as yours, but it all works fine and is great :D

One thing im loving is i havent sealed the hole which the cables run through yet and im getting some serious turbo noise coming inside

Going to clean it up and paint gloss black and thats it!
