The Very Start

Thought i may aswell start a thread

Started in July 2009 when i bought the Cupra

Heres some pics from when i picked her up

After owning for 7 months repair bills have now reached the £1000 mark!!

Previous owners had obviously not cared for the car and quite frankly it turned out to have been neglected!

So far ive changed

Brakes all round
2 wishbones
2 anti roll bar links
2 rear hubs
Wheel bolts all round (absolutely kackered threads)
Full interior
Clutch replacement
Repaired clutch pedal
Gear linkage

Previous owner had 17" supperlegerras on, the car then has rear spacers and the standard radius wheel bolts.
Resulting in wheel bolts barely holding the wheels on, damaged rear hubs and bolts all stripped

Interior was seriously neglected and turned out one seat was crooked, it later snapped so picked up a new interior

The rest are just serviceable parts but obviously had just been left leaving me with the joy of replacing them!

Enough of the problems, some more positive things

First to be changed was the gay lexus lights to some nice fresh standards

IMG_4618.jpg

Then after replacing

Brakes all round
2 wishbones
2 anti roll bar links
2 rear hubs
Wheel bolts all round
Clutch

Was time for a rolling road

Was off to Northampton Motorsport for rolling road day

It came back with 186.6@ flywheel
and a very healthy 222.7 torque figure

Rather happy with the figures only having a mild map (15psi peak)

IMG_4591-1.jpg

Then i focussed on the bay a little bit

Replaced the 007p with a turbosmart
replaced blue vac lines with red
added some more red
Replaced cheap ebay filter with a Jetex
Silicone extension
Coldside relocation
Sprayed strut brace

Heres the engine bay before

Cheers

Doing a cambelt change next

Then coilovers
Cant decide which to go for though

Have read good reviews on Jamex they seem good for the money

But im not normally one for buying cheap, when it comes to suspension, brakes, tyres etc

But its only for road use so not sure if i want to splash out 500+

Then the wheels will be going gloss black wih a red lip :)

Recently bought a Forge TIP

Fitted it yesterday (wow what a ball ache they are to fit)

I love it so far, has added a nice whistle sound and the power delivery seems so different, almost smoother so im very happy with it!

Compared to standard

IMG_4661.jpg

Cupra R gauge holder for centre
Picked this up from ebay for £3 lol
slightly modded it to fit as it had a bit of damage at the top but was a very easy fix

got couple more gauges to wire in there and done!

Unfortunately most of the pics are crap as i didnt realise the ISO on ym camera was set to high :(

Car was actually really clean, but camera and photobucket combined did a good job of making it look ****

so selected the very few that turned out ok

Looking Good :)

Do sometimes miss my old Black Cupra :(

Are you going to remove the slats in the front bumper to reveal the FMIC?

Cheers

I will be yeah, ill be having the bumper resprayed soon so plan is to get it done at the same time.

Dont like the look of it when people just cut it off and leave it looking rough so ill just let the bodyshop do it when they do the spraying :)

Looking good. Do prefer the ibiza's in black or silver. What are the future plans for it mate? You should get some red FMIC hoses to match the engine bay and get it more noticed.

Cheers mate

Im definately changing the blue hoses to red to match the others

Going to get the bumper wide mouthed to reveal the intercooler a bit more too

Then im going to have the inlet and a few other bits done gloss black to finish it off

Was going to sell or px my wheels but think im just going to keep them now, i need 3 tyres but ive been offered some brand new yokos for pennies which i cant turn down so looks like they will be staying and getting a refurb!

Maybe white?

So people do say

But the Turbosmart is a dual port and is still a recirc valve just like the 007p but gives a better sound in my opinion

Its non recirc valves (atmospheric) which are no good for these cars
