1) To route the cables through the car as they get melted by the downpipe
2) Because by simply extending the shift rod you are efectively lengthening the throw which is no good.
3) because it looks pretty awesome!

Admittedly it does look pretty sweet, I wouldnt put the plasics back though, it looks like a lil rally car with it in hah.

So the main reason being the downpipe is a pain in the ass and melts it, fair shout.

Thanks for clearing that up for me James :)

Yeah I put my plastics back on last night and took them straight back off! Might paint my box matt black to make it a little more subtle.

Leave the plastics off and re locate your boost gauge, where too im not sure but plastics off look cool. When i transformed my cubby whole into where my headunit is i did like the fresh look of carpet.

Time for abit of modding? ;)

Thats my wideband gauge, its actually not attached to any of the plastics in that area so it wont have to be moved, its attatched to the bottom of the stereo fascia.

I just dont like the gear cables on show with the plastics off

Hmm

You could add the cubby hole plastics back in and do some fancy modding to make it look flush, but you can do some 'home diy' and use cable covers like you can use for arial cables, otherwise its something you need to get used too.

It does look hot without though

Take it back off, and refix it under the car (OEM) position...cables hidden then :D

Small update

Tomorrow i leave for the Nurburgring....

We will see how well my car holds up to 4 days thrashing lol

Come september im not planning on mot or insuring it as im hoping to take it off the road for winter to give some real love, just need to sort a cheap daily when i get back.

I have a huge spec list made up with best prices i could find

List includes a GT2860rs :D

After loads of research ive decided the 2860rs is the best choice for me

Just cant decide whether to run an external wastegate or not

Is it difficult to get hold of a 28rs without the wastegate? also want the housing to be v-band.

Iv always wanted to go to the ring but im too scared of breaking something or worse still crashing!

I dont think a 28rs would warrent an external wastegate tbh.. unless you run a screamer pipe off it :D.

Have you looked into the turbo Danny on here is getting sounds like an awesome bit of kit.. really quick spool and still moves a lot of air! DaNnY_LaD is his username.

Yer ive had a read up on the 2868 seems like a good option, quick spool with higher power output over the 60rs but from what ive seen its a lot more money.

Might look into it nearer the time but i wont be going any bigger than that though

I think 300-350hp with a diff etc would be quite a decent setup all round
