nice install  tidy....as always[B)]

did you fit this yourself, how long did it take?

i'd imagine a 15C reduction in intake temps should make quite a difference throughout the rev range i'd of thought

Cheers :)

Yup, i fitted all myself proberly took me around 5hrs over a couple of days after work, along with a few helpful PM`s from Bill.

I can certinatly feel a slight difference when the meth kicks in, just hope it performs well with it on the rollers.

A nice figure on the rollers could help my sale no end.

Keep up the good work awesome car. Why you selling it,what you after next?

Basicly just got a house with the Mr`s and i`ve wanted another motorbike for ages so this would be the perfect time to get rid, sell the car get myself a bike and safty gear and still have a couple of K to give to the Mr`s for "house" stuff.

I went for the Kinetic before INA where around, cant think it would be much different tho, I used a small ratchet and a 1/4" extention bar for all the nuts, theres a nack to getting the 3rd nut in from the bottom right on, i used abit of silicone to stop the nut falling out of the socket, you wont get it on with your fingers ;)

Remember to put the bolt closest the head in first, but you properly already knew that.

Takes me about 1hr 30mins to remove and refit these days.

It'll probably be a b*tch like all the other cast 1.8t mani's.

Wheres my old cupra at?

Just wondering if anybody has seen or heard of my old cupra, the local lad i sold it to sold it on a couple of months later due to not being able to afford to run it and the fact all the members on a local site kept referring to the car as it will always be "Bennys cupra" lol.

Last i heard it was sold to a lad in Darby, apparently it had a fueling problem?

Pics for all the new members as im sure all the old timers will remember what she looked like.

God do i miss her, but in the market for a Zed now :D

I know how you feel...i remember when i old my Escort RS turbo a few years ago i looked for it everywhere!...eventually found it on Ebay in leeds (nearly 300 miles away!) and it looked a right state! I spent thousands on that car and wish i never found it again to be honest!

yes a lad in derby has it now.. dom

coming to me soon i think
its a bit poorly currently

He sent me a couple of tx`s apprently he had a overfueling problem which sombody had told him was down to the evap being removed  And also your map could have been to blame

I dismissed both those comments as everything was tip top for the 6months i had the hybrid on.

Also only boosting approx 18psi.

I dont think its been looked after aswell as i`d hoped TBH. I did see it a few times before it went upto Darby:doh:

Some pics would be great Bill

Benny random question...

what profile are those tyres and the cupra R alloys are 16s arn't they?

IIRC 205/45/16.

1st tiem I saw it the wastegate actuator was loose/open, so no boost... Altered by some numpty garage somewhere. Wastegate actuator was not holding pressure either, so i got a forge one for him.
since then its had some issue with smoke, and had the turbo rebuilt, but still smokes, so something amiss with the headgasket or valve guides/stem seals I think. its supposed to be coming back my way for the work soon.
regards
bill

The actuator did work its way loose when the local lad had it not long after he bought it from me which i then adjusted back to normal.

I was told by my brother that it was puffing abit of blue smoke on overrun when he was following me, which i assume would only get worse, if truth be told the car wasnt going to bought as a shopping car so it would have taken some stick by now!

As much as i miss it it looks like i got rid at the right time :(

HAHA:D

now my car guys will be keeping hold of her she is a beauty and runs perfectly, alot of credit to you benny :)

Good to see it back on the site, if you hae any questions dont be afraid to PM me.

Some of the spec list on PH isnt 100% accurate, i dont understand why it hnow has a inline fuel pump as far as i know the LCR one i fitted is plenty upto the job.

Was the valve stem oil seals done in the end?

Get some uptodate pics up of the bay, looks a little different to my old setup.
