Buckets would would darn sweet! I can't justify spending that on mine, like we spoke about I think It'll be sold within the next year... Unless I find a cheap daily!?

Manged to get out today and do my first logs since the hybrid was fitted and mapped, although everything doesnt look to bad theres a couple of things im going to ask Bill to look at as he mapped it.

On block 115 when on WOT from 1500rpm it only seems to spike to 21psi where as on gear changes it spikes 26psi im hoping the logs will confirm its perfectly normal for the me7 to behave like this.

Looks to be getting pretty hot down there also, im hoping that once the WMI is installed this will help this aswell as more power.

Everything else looks ok to me g/s is good along with the duty cycle being pretty low.

Discuss.

Maybe theres abit more timing to be had? i think ill leave as is at the moment as i`ve just bought a devils own WMI so will need to do alot more logging and adjusting once thats installed.

Pic to follow once tank and connectors arrive.

what intercooler have you got fitted Benny, as about the highest temp I have seen is around 38c on mine (running PA FMIC)

I am doing some more logs on wednesday as I am adjusting a final bit of boost in, so will double check this and see how it goes

Im running the forge FMIC, apprently good for 300bhp, i dont think the DIA of the pipes help with those temps.

odd

I know you are running a little more boost than I am, due to the Ibiza having 20mm pins as standard (bendy rods on mine if I tried to run the same)

is WMI worth it on a hybrid with standard rods too?

seen the results, but just not sure if its worth it when transforming it too the "on the road" difference

The boost delivery is what you expect and get from a k04... trying to clip its initial spool wings is difficult, so the overboost is almost always there. The n75 looks to control it well, as you can see from the drop in duty cycle as the boost climbs and revs increase.

The load the ecu see's is why there's differences in boost levels.. a requested torque is made, and in taller gears thats a higher request than in lower gears, and the ecu does its thing to achieve its request. in a taller gear, it tries harder than if it was in a lower gear - aka normal ME7 load based ecu behaviour

some more timing possible yes but not much.. whats there has been left with hot days in mind..
More can be added especially with wmi being added, depending on WMI mix ratio.. egt's should drop which can only help things

I dont personally like the forge ibiza FMIC pipework or diameters... too many cut cut & shut tight corners in small bore pipework
For me its not 300bhp flow setup unless there is some evidence of pressure drop across the core against flow data to say otherwise.

JB's Pro-Alloy fmic is way bigger and better flowing design than the ibiza one on yours.

Thanks for your input Bill, no more timing will be dialed in until the WMI is fitted as you said theres room been left for hotter days which makes sense.

As for the FMIC its a shame i didnt know what direction i would be taking 3yrs ago when i got the car but unfortunatly the Forge item will be staying as im not prepared to pay the cost for a new one what with house hunting soon, So ill just get the best out of the setup i have :( Maybe use some reducers and enlarge the pipe work if that would help any?

Im guessing that the high intake temps are due to the FMIC?

Not worrying to much here about RR results but when i eventully get her on the RR with thew operator doing the run in 4th gear is this likly to hinder any results as the boost is only reaching 21psi and not the full spike?

I didnt want to hear this as i have a Forge FMIC and will be going hybrid in the next 4-5 months or so. Im sure Bill could make up some larger diameter pipework to make it flow better as im sure the actual core of the cooler is enough to flow to 300bhp, some people run the uni coolers on big turbo setups with uprated pipework and it seems to do the job ok, open to suggestions though.......

Core of the FMIC will be fine, its the bad pipework that lets it down (surprising since you pay so much for it!!)

the pipe work for the twin pass FMIC on the MK4 ibiza is awful...does not flow with nice corners at all, very cut and put together

The only thing that will restrict you if you redesign the pipework is the diameter of the inlet/outlets to the core and the fact that they enter the back, forcing the air to turn immediately 90 degrees - nasty for flow.

The pipework Danny has on his car is actually pretty decent, it follows the old AM setup i used to have but its a lot easier to put together, the kit wasn't much at all to buy either, you've jut got to buy some decent silicone hoses to go with it though and not the rubber compound rubbish that are supplied with it!

I would say the pipework is a restriction though mate, the actual core should be able to cope easily, i had similar problems with my hybrid. Its something for you to look into though mate to get those temps down

yep......:(.......the section of pipe with the MAP sensor......
about a 135 degree return bend:ban:........ not sure what they were thinking in that design meeting:whistle:

IIRC the kit they supply to fit a SEAT Sport FMIC uses a 90 degree bend with the addition of another bent section....... all out of larger 63mm...... alot less restrictive in all aspects......

I may look into changing the pipework, to be honest i havent really taken much notice of the forge pipework until now, the car drives superb and is uber quick im going to see what the WMI does for the intake temps before i make my decision.

this thread has make me think about the Forge pipe in question...... thinking i may buy a section or 2 of ali tubing and possibly  cut the restrictive pipe to keep the required MAP sensor locator........

Hello Buddy,

Block 020 is the last set of logs?

Managed to get the WMI all wired up yesterday just waiting on the tank and fittings before i can fire her up properly. :D
