Not a happy bunny. CR Turbo's phoned today to say my turbos was Ready! I thought they would have contacted me when they had it in bits to let me know what it needed, how much it was goin to cost and if i wanted to go ahead witht he repair or not but no. Works been done bill is £245 + VAT + Carridge. So just under £300
Put it down to...You guessed it, that word i hate *contamination again* Needed everything replaced again! So got into a bit of a debate with this kieth guy. Mentioning i ran a standard KO3 turbo for 82k pushin out just over 200BHP and it never skipped a beat, yet a turbo rebuilt by them has lasted for around 1600 miles only 400 of which were on my 82,000 mile car. please explain?
Hey told me the turbo was originaly of an iveco van, and since they never designed the turbo they couldnt guarantee it wouldnt happen again....
So i asked a couple more questions like what can it safley be ran at,(1.7 Bar) Which was nothing like what it was running at. And has anything been uprated this time to try and prevent the problem? Nope, the parts are the exact same as that of what was used in the first rebuild with the uprated thrust bearing. Said it needed new bearings, seals shaft the lot because the thrust bearing had worn, allowing the shaft to move and oil to slip past the seals. Am i missing something? Are uprated turbos really that soft?

We have repaired your turbo, it now has a new service kit with new journal bearings, thrust bearing and new stepped gap piston rings. Its all built, balanced and re-conned.
The price is £245 plus the carriage and VAT. Total is £293.25
If you can ring or email with your payment details, we can get it on the courier tonight.

So grudgingly i payed it, and it should arrive wednesday.

Got your message early...
It isn't the first time this has happend with Cr turbo not accepting blaim...Not mentionin not names but it was a k03 hybrid...
There take the piss mate...id would of told the to **** off and gone else were there supposed to be really good...
But a full rebuild under 2k miles & 1k miles being on a motorway seriously summet aint right...

Yeah, couldnt tell em to f*ck off as they had gone ahead and rebuilt it anyway. So if i had decided not to pay it i prob wouldnt have gotten my turbo back and what if it happens again? What excuse this time, CONTAMINATION! ??? I for one will never be using their services again!

My mates Had his Gt2x Hybrid Fitted the other week and went for mapping today and He mapped it at 294.5Bhp & 320ft/lb so they can without a doubt produce..

Hey bud, yeah sorry, my phone ran out of credit and i got cut off lol.
Yup will be doin everythin u suggested. Still a long way to go, if it holds up need an MBC, a manifold, a flywheel and cutch and some other bits n bobs...
Once its up and runnin will get some logs done and see what the things actually doin in those cylinders

Well the rebuild looks good, everythin seems to have been replaced and its not blowin out blue smoke yet *touch wood*
Yeah if it happens again ill be trying more to do something about it.
Doesnt feel as quick this time round but mabey its just me.
New impellars at both exhaust and intake side, bearings seals the lot, hope its holds up this time

Right, the cars done 220 miles with the new turbo, all was goin well when...
Drivin home at about half 1 tonight when all of a sudden i loose power, not boostin at all and making a rattling noise, i think WHAT THE ****! as i was still running it in.
Pull over and open the bonnet to find the actuator bolts had rattled slack and the actuator just HANGING by the pipe to it....
Well by this time i was ragin, Its pitch black and trying to put sort it with the light from my phone and what tools i have in the boot was a nightmare. So i took plenty photos and am goin to phone them and kick up f*ck on monday. Id advise every person thinking about dealing with them, NOT TO!!

hmm i was going to get my ko3 hybrid from cr turbo but now i dont know if will do it now.

Because when i got It back i Double tighten everything....
The Gt2x is a good turbo just that cr turbos gave a poor excuse...
