Hello all,
Thought I'd add my experience. Ordered in June confirmed in July for Leon Cupra Vz3 300 Nevada White with XL safety pack. Ordered via leasing options.
Still no build date will be lucky to get by next July at this rate. The part that's really pi***d me off is that there seems to be no consistent "fair" way of prioritising builds. It's not first come first served its just a mess. In fact they are prioritising full price purchases over pre-existing discounted offers. This is to keep the multi million pound showrooms open. If you have a look seat/ cupra had a a Cupra priority
service which offers customized Cupra's in 21 days! So ours builds are being given to other muggins paying full price!
Search "cupra priority" - "Ready to join the CUPRA Tribe? Customise your CUPRA and drive it away in just 21 days with CUPRA Priority."
Here's a response from someone at cupra themselves. I had to pull a lot of teeth to get some sort of official response. The only "good news" is I can cancel my order free of charge should I wish?
"I have checked on the system this morning and the car is still at status 0. As you will have seen in the press due to the global pandemic there is a global shortage of semiconductors but also many components of vehicles. A lot of the part manufactured are across Asia and all around the world and sadly these countries are less fortunate than Britain and have not yet received vaccinations therefore are still having lockdowns and high numbers of deaths which in turn is causing long delays with the factory. I can only apologise for any inconvenience caused but sadly we are unable to give a more detailed schedule as the factories also do not know what and when is arriving.
To give you an insight to the factory build, retail customers are receiving priory on the new vehicles (this is due to the costs involved for the dealerships to keep open) to touch on the customer in question we can change his order to purchase this retail and then this will be a priority vehicle but this will be a much more expensive option and we are still unable to guarantee a delivery date.
I am sorry I am unable to give a more detailed schedule for the order in question but unfortunately we are still in a global pandemic. I will ask the team to keep chasing and will hopefully be able to give some better news."
