I am definitely feeling empathy for you and in your situation I think I’d be exactly the same as you.
that being said if I put my business head on then if I was cupra / seat I would absolutely prioritise direct sales through their dealership network … this isn’t just true of the motor industry it applies to any retail / wholesale situation. As a consumer I know this myself and the reason I never order through lease sites as in my opinion it adds one extra step in the link to getting a car and all I’ve ever done is found the best lease site deal and taken it to my local dealer which I’m lucky is only 8 miles away … they have matched that price on 2 cupra this year alone.
i think I have got incredibly lucky with my car orders over the years but when I actually think about it because I have used dealers who have a direct link to factory systems then no I haven’t been lucky. We got the
formentor in 2 weeks back in March and my
cupra Leon e hybrid this week after one month of ordering. Simply because the dealers can bulk pre order direct from factory.
also your muggins comment is unfair. I am well aware I pay more for my hybrid having ordered end of October than someone who ordered April this year. It’s simple supply and demand. That’s just bad timing for me that the car market is mental at the minute. That being said at least I’m not having to buy gap insurance on a brand nee car seen as their is no gap as it’s worth more now than it was brand new list price.
i will end this by saying again id be exactly the same as you in your position I’d probably be more ragey about it actually
