I take it your waiting for me then..

Well my AMD map boosts upto 1.4 bar so about 20 psi.

15psi does sound low for a stage 1 tbh.

Just out of interest have you checked the boost gauge and piping for any leaks or faults etc..??

some logs of actual vs requested boost etc would be a big help.

Thanks s1l3nc3r!!!

tbh the car feels like it's boosting to 15 psi and no more, I took Berg out in mine and he said it feels alot quicker, mine hits 22psi and tails off to around 13 :D

But some actual vs requested logs are definately needed

spoke to AMD but they need details of the guy not the car to check what was done, but it wasnt done by previou owner so stuck again lol

Is there any place that can tell me 'what' map is on my car or can they only tell me if its mapped?

AMD is quite a way away

Problem is now i have no idea weather my car is running correct on a soft map or is stage 1 and loosing boost pressure etc

Maybe i could try a revo free trial and see if it boosts to over 20psi?
Would this return my ecu back to standard after the trial or back to current map?

standard is 7psi, if yours is boosting to 14psi then yes its mapped, typically a stg1

to put another map, you will need the ecu flashed back to standard (removing the map) and then you can put revo on it (revo should do this)

have you had vag com on it with logs etc?

yet again, another guessing game of a thread:rolleyes:. help us to help you and get it to a specialist

I wouldn't go near the Revo trial again. There's so much speculation as to what they do to your ECU.

I had 3 to 4 'mobile tuners' try and map my car after the trial and they all claimed that Revo lock the ECU so only they can modify it. True or not, none of them could do anything with it (luckily).

Ring Stealth mate, talk to Vince, as he, much like Smarties has the answer!

Ive come to that conclusion

But as i have no Records i have no idea what map is on my car and i cant find out as i have no details of who had it mapped

No relating fault codes were found on VAGCOM
There is no boost leaks after many checks
Tried 2 different n75 valves etc

tried loads of stuff but still just peaks at 14psi which is why im thinking maybe it has a softer map as it also has AMD stickers on it

If there was somewhere which could tell me what map i had as appose to 'is it mapped or not' it could determin if i have a problem or not

Going to ring them monday mate, only option left really i think

They are only up the road too

ive found it doesnt have a revo map now but just dont know if its running right with a soft map or if it has stage 1 and i have problems, im completely lost lol

start from scratch, or you're just pissing against the wind - ignore what stickers are on the car, as that dont mean ****

get a decent, well known map on the car, from a reputable tuner, i.e. Revo, so they will carry out full diagnostics before and after the map and will be able to at least point you in the right direction of whats happening

I second that! had mine done at stealth.

Seems to me that if the guy you bought it off wasn't the owner that had it mapped, he probably had no idea what map was on it and assumed it was revo!

If you wanna go Revo then get the free trial! You've already felt the POWER lol

I might take it over tomorrow if not it will be monday

Obviously if they uncover no faults with the car it must be the map causing it then ill just go Revo stage 1

If it had some kind of leak then im sure vag-com would of pulled this up to begin with...we pretty much covered everything else apart from doing logs or cycles...if the guys near you do it anything like amd did with mine then they will find any problems with it whilst mapping etc.

Yer i think im pretty much summing this up now

The guy i bought it from says Revo set it up to run 15psi so it werent too high but it was done by the owner before him, without details of where it was done Revo told me they couldnt confirm anything

I think im going to go to Revo first tbh, let them have a look and tell me if it has Revo software or not

Although i tried the sps3 the other day and it didnt recognise it, ive read on a few forums now that swapping from 1 ecu to another the sps can sometimes take quite a few minutes before recognising it.

Once i find out if its revo or not im going to go from there

Thanks for the help here

Good to be on a site where people know what what they are talking about

just a quick addition matey, if youve got a blue spring in the d.v then i'd suggest using a green or yellow one. the blue is designed for higher power use, more psi basically, big turbo territory. i found that the yellow works best on mine having tried all three, green, yellow and blue. otherwise carry on with what you plan to do, but as far as i remember, the split r valve needs adjusting so not fair guage. the spring is a cheap option so worth ago. good luck none the less. ;-)
