keep sanding lol

from my experience vinyl will give you wrinkles around the edges - even if you heat it up and do a great job it is just as difficult to get perfect as paint.

I would just keep sanding and priming until you're happy

must say though i think it looks great the way it is, you've done a nice job.

i was same as you mate got sick of sanding so just sprayed it and left it lol.

I think im going to leave it how it is for a while and maybe make some changes in a couple of weeks. See how I get on with it and the reactions from people that see it etc

Just dropped her off at VAG Tune again for a new CV Boot, new cam cover gasket, new sump and new oil pickup filter.

Hopefully it will stop it pissing oil all over the place :( and make sure it gets through the MOT in feb

Bad News:

Got called to say the car was done, so popped down to the garage and it was just having the tracking done. He took it out for a test and it wasn't quite right so it went back in for the tracking to be adjusted again.

Once done, he took it out for a final run to ensure everything was fine. 15mins later, no sign of the car :(

Another 5mins later and he arrives back in another car and I'm told it had broken down at the side of the road as the clutch master cylinder has gone and it cant be put in gear :'( *******

Too late to get parts on a Saturday so he is getting it towed back to be stored in the garage overnight and will hopefully repair it Monday morning for around £170 all in.

Just hope its not the clutch slave cylinder as that's in the gearbox and a total bit*h to repair.

Fingers crossed.

Good News!!

The garage fitted a new genuine part master cylinder but this didnt fix the problem.... Im starting to think "Oh sh*t" this is going to be expensive.

But after more troubleshooting and head scratching, it was worked out that the brand new replacement part must be faulty. So they got another non-genuine one from euro car parts and that fixed it!! Thank god!

After all that he still only charged me for 1h30mins labour plus the non-gen part which was £15 cheaper than the gen part. Excellent service :)

Picking her up tonight, cant wait! :D

Picked the car up and its perfect, been monitoring it for a week and not a single drop of oil anywhere has leaked!

Got some Bosch Aero Wipers for the front and fitted them this morning.

Much better! Old wipers were crap, new ones are silent and wipe the screen much better, and look better too !!

About a grand to spend - But on what... ?

Done a hell of a lot of overtime this month so its time to treat myself :D

Two months ago it got a full suspension upgrade, springs, shocks, front and rear ARB and polybushes all over.

So now its time for something else, but i'm not sure what....

I am thinking maybe a forge FMIC from awesome but then not too sure to spend the rest on, maybe a better stage 2 map.

So here is the current spec list of the car:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was rolling roaded by AMD a few months ago and was just shy of 250bhp with 254 torque. They said the dv was on the wrong way, it needed a better filter (current is closed cone) and it was a hot day which didnt help. The dv is now on the right way and a big fat jetex is on order from Bill.

So.... What next? Help me spend my money !! :D

After being told my air filter was restrictive and holding the car back by AMD when they dyno'd it, I thought it was time I splashed out on a massive Jetex filter :D So ordered one up from Badger5, excellent service, cheers!

It arrive with a silicone joiner and alloy coupler plus all the clips needed.

IMG00216-20101013-2015.jpg

Here is what the old filter looked like. The plastic ducting on the right comes from the standard air feed which is tiny, so I ripped that all out

IMG00217-20101013-2032.jpg

And it went on really easily. I could still use the bracket that attaches to the MAF which holds it very sturdily.

Took it for a test drive and the difference in noise is incredible. Really sucks hard and the dump valve is louder and more aggressive too. The car defiantly feels more responsive and picks up better.

Next step is to fit a dedicated cold air duct from the fog light when I fit my forge front mount intercooler.

After driving the car for a few days I have no petrol left due to making that filter suck! It sounds so bloody awesome that I cant help myself.

Car defiantly feels happier and lest restricted. Really pleased with it. Should be even better once the forge FMIC / cold air feed for the filter goes on :D

Should be fitting the fabia rear wiper today

that filter is massive

Yep! Totally. But it fits really well, secured by the bracket and buts up nicely against the bracket for the old air box. Snug, but perfect

Oh yes, its totally addictive! What about wrapping the TIP in black electricians tape, might not look too bad and cheaper than buying a new TIP!!

Been shopping for a FMIC and HID's, then realised its tax this month and insurance next month :( sucks!

Maybe an option than a new TIP! My FMIC pipes are red though aswell...

I'm very tempted to get a Jetex though and just live the with odd colour combo. End of the day it's under the bonnet I guess!

Insurance is such a pain in the a$$. [:@]

Trust me its worth the dodgy colours just for the noise it mates :)

Looking at about £900 for a 10month policy this year :(
