So today was the big day! Started at 9am and finished at 6pm.... lol.

Started off with fitting the rear brace, side brackets mount solidly to the side of the car

IMG00305-20101113-1803.jpg

The brace then fits in and is secured using the handles

IMG00307-20101113-1824.jpg

Once tightened up its solid! And really easy to remove, comes out it about 60 secs.

Big thanks to Mike @ Hughes Engineering for the brace, top bit of kit!

IMG00306-20101113-1824.jpg

Just a quick shot of how the front of the car used to look...

IMG00280-20101113-0924.jpg

Off comes the bumper. This was a bi*ch to do, really struggled getting the edges off past the lights. Took nearly an hour!!

IMG00282-20101113-1049.jpg

Crappy standard intercoolers and interconnecting pipe comes out...

IMG00283-20101113-1124.jpg

Front of the car ready for the new crash bar and intercooler

New crash bar on and forge intercooler fitted to it

Fitted the pipe work on. Left side is perfect. But due to wanting to fit a new map pipe on the right side, the pipework had to be adjusted upwards to get it to connect to the new shorter map pipe. But after trial fitting the bumper this just wasnt an option, it fouled the bumper.

IMG00286-20101113-1354.jpg

Next step was to get the map sensor out of the standard pipe, but the screws were just spinning so out came the Dremmel :D

IMG00288-20101113-1437.jpg

Fitted into the adaptor to get it to fit to the new pipe

IMG00290-20101113-1448.jpg

New map pipe assembly in place. Had to use some of the old standard pipe to extend the pipe to get it to join the intercooler pipework. Eventually this will be replaced by a blue silicon pipe.

The battery tray had to be cut slightly to allow the pipe to sit flush against it, perfect fit really, headlight fits back in no problem.

IMG00296-20101113-1515.jpg

Right side pipework complete with 80mm cold air feed in place ready to be secured

IMG00300-20101113-1533.jpg

Left side pipework also complete connecting to the new forge upper left boost host

IMG00297-20101113-1515.jpg

Overall shot of all the pipework and cooler complete

As the sticky pads supplied with the HID ballasts were crap and fell off within a few days, I took the chance to relocate the ballasts

There was a nice little ledge that the ballast fitted perfectly in. Was clear both side so this allowed a cable tie to hold it there securely

IMG00291-20101113-1503.jpg

Used the same mounting point on the left side too, perfect fit!

IMG00293-20101113-1506.jpg

Arty shot of the forge logo :)

IMG00298-20101113-1515.jpg

Used a cable tie to angle the cold air feed to point at the Jetex filter better

IMG00299-20101113-1528.jpg

Feed secured in place and nicely aimed at the filter

IMG00301-20101113-1533.jpg

Other end is secured to the back of the fog light surround, another perfect fit!

IMG00304-20101113-1724.jpg

Sits snuggly behind the grill looking all shiny :)

All done! Bumper was again a bi*ch to get back on again, stupid design is really difficult to get it past the headlights :(

IMG00302-20101113-1722.jpg

Took it out for a drive and it pulls harder, sounds a bit more 'sucky' and dumps a lot louder after higher boost

Really pleased with it, the Forge kit oozed quality and was really easy to put on! Good days work :D

Big thanks to Kyle for helping all day too!! Cheers mate

Not sure what to buy next though.... Maybe full exhaust system + custom stage 2 map

Jabba heatshields are lovely pieces of kit and take a few mins to fit.

On the exhaust and stage 2 map.... This is what I'm getting done in December.. :D

Got front and rear ARB's already ;)

Let me know how that AMD deal is, Im tempted by it too!

Pads need doing before MOT time in a few months so next mod will probably be new discs and pads.

Thats some great new mods!

Those rear braces are awesome bits of kit for the price!

Do you recommend the Forge polished charge pipe?

They are indeed! Really impressed with it and pretty damm cheap too.

Yes, for sure! Improved the responsiveness and spooling of the turbo by quite a bit. Only problem is the build quality isnt that great, few lights scratches on it and the breather pipes stick into the main pipe by a fair bit, but still worth the money :)

Lol, I should check your spec list before suggesting things!

Well the AMD deal finishes at the end of December and I'm going to book my car in for the last week of December (after payday!;)) So you might beat me to it if you take the offer up.

Going Ferodo DS2500 pads? Think they are 'the one' for the LCR going by the feedback on here about them. I'm getting them defo for the front when I get mine replaced, with EBC discs, thinking grooved like Ultimax one's or something. Then just a new oem disc/pad setup on the rear as these do the job just fine there. Most of the hefty braking is through the front anyway.

Also mate, where did you buy your 80mm cold feed ducting? I gotta get mine sorted seeing yours all plumbed in!

Ahh damm, wanted to see what it was like before I bought it lol.

Yep, Ferodo pads and probably the groved disks too from Bill. Seems to be the best setup available. Need to refurb my brembos at the same time too, looking a bit shabby these days :(

Rears are fine, 70% left at last service so they will stay standard I think

Good old ebay mate, this is the exact item I bought... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140395584704&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Also updated the spec list in the first post, quite a bit bigger now :D :D

Sorry bud, funds won't allow me to get the offer till after xmas pay 3 weeks into December

DK has the new milltek system though so you could always ask him if he's around near you sometime and show you. I saw it at the grasshopper meet we had a few weeks ago. It was lovely [B)]

Ditto on the Brembo's, my right front caliper is ok but a bit dull. But the front left is awful. Really needs a refurb. But think I'm going to leave it till after the winter is over and all the crap like grit and snow etc is off the road.

Cheers for the link dude. Ebay is like my 2nd home these days

Ha, yeah your spec list is looking very impressive now. I can't wait to one day think 'it's finished' or as close as possible because there is always something else you see on here and want :cartman:
