I think i would like my car a lot more if it had decent suspension, and please someone don't reply with "i love my sports suspension" because in that case you've never driven a decent handling car:lol: My car is booked in at midland vw on saturday morning so i'll see what they have to say.

you arnt going to be to pleased with the fr then my c2 vtr i had before would easily out handle the fr . the fiesta st would be a great buy if it had near the 180 bhp mark

People say the ibiza handles poor but I have driven corsas and fiestas and yes the corsa was poor but I couldnt tell any real difference between the ibiza and fiesta. The fiesta was slightly better but nothing to call the ibiza poor in comparison. And when I race people on private roads they never seem to be able to outdo me in my supposed poor handling car. Its nothing special but not exactly poor either. Coilies coming soon though. :D

Villian why not just get coilovers?

i test drove the st then the fr and have to admit the handling on the st was alot better it held the road alot better and the brakes where alot sharper but the tourque of the fr won the decision over plus the tunability theres a test on you tube that compares them . http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=psYwwAZiBMo

So thats why nearly every car magazine i've read slates the ibiza's handling saying it's like being connected to the road via elastic?!?! Even in that video it's no match for a pug or ford. I've driven a pug 180 gti and have to say wasn't impressed. Driven a 1.4 fiesta and could tell that the car could beome a great handler.

they are more warm hatches more than hot hatches if they used the cupra it would of had to be against the ctr and 182 to give a good comparison. didnt the cupra come out a bit later than the fr ?

But the cupra and the ST are in the same price bracket.

Anyhow maybe in the warm and hot hatches world the gap between the fiesta ST and FR is greater than in the ibiza 1.4 vs fiesta 1.4 segment.

Doing some research in a german car mag they tested a ibiza cupra and clio 182 around a track called oberschlerben. The cupra did the lap .3 of a sec faster :D

And around hockenheim short track the ibiza cupra beat the fiesta ST by 1.1 secs. Corsa VXR is faster than the cupra by .7 of a sec though round hockeheim.

Help!! can someone tell me where Ed butler got his H&R cup kit -50 drop, or if Ed could tell me himself, as i can only find the kit for the mk3 ibiza.

Any feedback would be great, thanks

There are a lot of downers on the handling of the Ibiza here.
It is clear that the Ibizas chassis set up is not the best of the 'hot' hatch range, but I would not class it as rubbish as some people are making out!, and I used to own a 306 Rallye which is still thought of today as one of the best handling hot hatches ever made.

Hi I have a 20vT cupra and my bro a TDI sport 130. The cupra handles much better than the 130 sport and is quicker. If you cant afford the cupra the FR remaped is still very fast much faster than the TDI 130. Only down side as mentioned is MPG but the petrol is so much fun and sounds great.
