Looks a bit tidier, need to remove the carbon canister next as its never something thats really bothered me but it will help with aesthetics.

Also removed the rear seat belts so it'll get throught its MOT, and gives me some welding points for the cage.

Theres light at the end of this tunnel

So finally got the car out the garage at the weekend. Went for a wee drive after it'd warmed up, probably only a 15min low boost run but noticed the brakes were binding quite badly (could stop on a hill and the car wouldnt roll away), so I need to investigate that again. Also the more worrying issue I have is the amount of heat under the bonnet after this short run was insane. Still read 90 on the dial but it was so hot I couldnt touch the strut brace. I know these turbos run hot but surely somethings not right here?

Yeah, il be the one at the side of the road in fire if i cant figure out this heat issue. Buying a new CTS as i know it needs one but i wouldnt have thought that would have contributed to it that much.

Going to remove the brakes again and check the pad clearance, might be needing rubbed down slightly as were quite sticky, and will have to keep an eye on the engine temperatures for now.

I think i have an addiction...

She's done (for now)

Had her booked in for MOT on the Thursday which gave me time to sort out a few niggly things and pull a few more bits off. So after a stressful day the garage phoned to say it'd passed first time! Not bad for a 14 year old car.

Been using her as a daily for a week or so now and its spot on, got it properly logged last night and i couldn't be happier. Makes full boost at 2950rpm and holds steady across the rev range, if i get the logs through il post them up, but all i can say is these hybrids aren't slow at all :drive1: ...
