Cant beat black LCR's. Its worth the hard work when they're clean.
Awesome GTI do a stage 1 remap for about £400 that gives 262bhp with no other mods. Worth a look

Yeah it took hours, but i was well pleased with the results, wanna get it professionally done to get rid of the swirls at some stage though.....
Looking to remap the car at some stage, got to get it serviced and cam belt changed first and then i'll see what funds are left in the account.

I put other threads on here, but thought i'd better add them onto my progress / readers ride thread aswell.
Replaced the old R badges for some shiney new ones.

Quick, inexpensive mod which has made a very big difference i think.

Then decided to tidy up my gear nob because it was looking abit tired (again there is another thread going so you can look there if you like).

I think i like it, still not sure. But see the new pics of the facelifted golf GTI today and the gearnob looks exactly the same as what i have just done.

Still loving the LCR after a years ownership. Woo Hoo.

Glad the clarity of reflections looks spot on and its still retained the black slimey look.

Noticed some swirls we need to get rid of when the time comes. Good thing is now I got a better base to work on. Keep up the good work deano and keep the mods coming.

Yeah there are a few swirls, i'm trying my best to keep it looking as good as you left it last time.
But the weather over the winter may have taken its toll alittle.

More updates;

Fitted the S3 Strutt brace a while ago but have only just got round to taking a pic.

Got my Kenwood headunit and ipod fitted a couple of days ago.

What do you guys think??

I noticed you left the little metal hoop on the left-hand side of the strut brace - didn't you find that pressed against the loom and the water pipe at all? The garage that fitted mine took that off and filed it down very nicely that you wouldn't even know it was there before. How are you finding it. For me, the strut brace made a massive improvement to the front-end sharpness.

Not a fan of non-oem head units or ipods, but glad your happy with it...

I fitted the strutt brace myself and had no probs with the metal hoop not clearing, had to grind right hand side so it would slide into place, but no other probs. Its been in for a service since fitting and my machanic (who is very picky about what i do to make sure its done properly, which is why i use him) never mentioned anything about it. I have found that turn is is sharper and is much more responsive, great value for money mod.

I've been wanting to fit my kenwood headunit for ages, and finally got round to doing it, and i run the wires through for the sub (to follow). And having an ipod with all my music on makes so much more sence to me than a 6disc changer, so am i very pleased.

Now the bonus has cleared hopefully more mods fill follow quickly as progress over the last year has been slow.

Buffer trails are inflicted by a buffer, swirls are inflicted by loads of other possibilities
You cant tell if there buffer swirls Junior as you are only using the small light from the flash of the camera.

Furthermore having detailed the car here http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=195712 for a good 9 hours there wasnt a swirl left on the car bar some RDS. I am pretty certain deano hasn't used a buffer or ran the car through a car wash so they must be swirls from normal washing.

Have a read of this thread here http://www.meguiarsonline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21066. Buffer swirls look totally different.

Car has only been washed by hand and polished and waxed regularly with the techniques learnt from your good self.

Update,
Car went into AMD yesterday for a remap, performance panel filter and forge PV.
Picked her up yesterday and had a fun drive home, 570pounds lighter but with a big smile on my face.
Now planning what to do next.

AmD LCR remaps are very good - glad your enjoying it. What did you get on the rr?

to be honest i'm alittle disapointed by the figures it got on the rr, it only pushed out 249bhp and 277torque. Was expecting alittle more with the remap, panel filter and forge pv aswell. But they said it should settle down over the next few days and i should see even more improvement. Still drives alot better and the extra torque is amazing, so still have a smile on my face when driving.
