Hi there chaps!
just some advice on dogbone mounts for the leon cupra, what are the best ones to go for? how much etc and are there any maufacturers that produce low vibration mounts as dont really want loads of vibration.
is it better to buy just the bushes or the complete db mount set?
any help would be appreciated, cheers

just buy the powerflex bushes, comes as a kit with a little lube and dont worry about replacing a bit of metal with an identical bit of metal. 18 quid.

DB mount is a rubber thing like an engine mount that is prone to go causing rattles etc, your talking about a lower strut brace. top strut brace goes on top of your suspension turretts.

The 'dog bone' is an engine mount or trans mount, it's at the base of the engine (central) at the back between the engine to gearbox, reduces the amount of rocking of the engine.

The dogbone helps the engine transmit the power to the ground. You will feel the car is more connected and the ESP or TCS does less work. Less front end lift under acceleration too.

You have several choices, you can either buy a complete new unit ala EIP tuning from Westec which is a piece of metal and 2 or 3 poly bushes. Or buy some poly bushes, remove the original, exchange bushes and replace.

As I keep saying......best VFM mods are a short shift and dogbone engine mount IMO

I have the EIP and I am very happy with it, vibration can be an issue if you over torque the bolts when fitting it, otherwise at idle it's barely noticable.

so was done yourself or purchased brushes & garage did it??

Nope I bought the EIP version which is a new mount (piece of metal) with 2 or 3 bushes already mounted on it, Westec fitted it for me but it can be done yourself with a set of axle stands.

Or as suggested take the old one off, dimantle the mount, fit new bushes and re-fix to car

So what sort of price does Westec charge if don't mind me asking??
So u have had Revo tuning done also. Have u been happy with it??
Am not sure which tuning people to go with as all say different stuff some say they not reversable & are full engine remapping!! Oettinger

Sorry to be thick, but what exactly is a dogbone mount? and what does it do?

Owen

Just one small difference:

Quote from EIP

"This center/rear lower mount decreases motor rocking incredibly, instantly you will feel more power to the ground. The EIP motor mount does not use hard polyurethane found in most other mounts. Because of this, little to no additional vibration will be felt when using our mount. "

Thanks Grantos, think I would probably go for just the bushes.
Do you also sell the EIP shortshift?
