I hardly ever use my paddles, but I can't see why you would need to extend them in anyway. The product you've bought looks good quality though.

Do they illuminate like the std ones?

these do not replace the std paddles, they are designed to stick to the existing ones, so you'll still see the illuminated (+/-)... There are some that replace but i didn't fancy taking the paddles off.

They just give a bigger surface area which is what i was after, plus i think they look cool....I think i'll be the opposite, most of the time I'll be on the paddles.

Are you sure you need these ? You dont have your car yet, right ? Th standart ones are big enough (at least for me) Its not only the part sticking out of the steering wheel, there is a whole button behind the steering wheel

Not really sure if I need them, more a case of want them, I'm sure the std ones are more than capable, but these look cool :)

I don't know if I would get them but I think they look pretty cool!

only problem for me with the paddles on the dsg systems is the fact they are steering wheel mounted,I asked an audi salesman why that was some time ago and he said its so the driver can change gears whilst going round a corner as the paddle would follow your hand(I dont tend to downchange mid corner!)...

I much prefer the column mounted paddles like those on the DB9 no matter what your doing you know exactly where the paddles are and they don't move.

where did you get this from?
I made my own alloy checkerplate cover for the DSG footrest shortly after I got the car in Oct. The footrest is held on with 1 plastic 10mm bolt at the top, remove and pop the rest out, then you can cover it in anything lying around; leather? wood? carbon sheet? alloy? whatever - mine cost nothing, I cut it out roughly then finished off the edges on the grinder, 2 countersunk screws to hold it on then refit - simples!

They are on ebay. I have some that cost £20 and are brill

You need the golf style ones if you have the curved ones

If the paddles have a fairly flat profile on the actual paddle, you need to search Audi Paddle Extensions.

Pics in my build thread.

Well I tried some for VWs

ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-CARBON-FIBRE-DSG-SHIFT-PADDLE-EXTENSION-GOLF-5-6-GTI-R-JETTA-PASSAT-3C-EOS-/251447673656?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a8b730338

However they were way too small. Mine are silver paddles. Do you have any links?
