na, defo looks way better now, bit of tyre black will make a world of difference though :D

Yeah I need to get the tires black again. Now they're almost grey due to all the sanding I did on the rims. I kept the tires on the rims and simply deflated and pushed them back.

I'm happy with them. The previous color never really was to my liking.

Plus I'm sure keeping them clean will be much easier

Update:

Its been a while since I received my intercooler, but had a 45 day wait for some last bits to arrive from EBay!!

anyway, fitted the Golf 2 reservoir today. Then it started pissing with rain so again I had to stop.

Not really seeing where the 45 degree bend goes though behind the headlight?
anyone that can shed some light on that? Or do I have to remove the headlight, fit the pipe and then put headlight back in?

Had a pretty good day working on the car today.
Fitted the golf window reservoir as mentioned above,

and fitted my catch tank.
Must say that it sounded a lot harder in the thread on here than it actually was.

Didn't proper hose yet though so had to make do with the oem hose. Doesn't look great but will do the trick for a day or 2 until other hose arrives.

No pictures as it got dark. Will post some when the hose gets here

update:

I've made slow progress on my intercooler route, as i've been working 6-7 days a week. Gotta make a living ;)

but I finished the route yesterday:

I think it turned out well.
I still need to polish the welds though.


anyway, the car is booked in with a mate saturday, who's spraying my bonnet and roof black. I've decided to leave the roof rails the color they are.

Then next week when I have some time, I'll fit the intercooler and custom IC route, and take pictures off it all together (along with catch tank)

to be honest danny, I've been putting off my stage 2 for soo long now (btw still on standard map :whistle:) that today I was looking at what I need to fit the K04 023 off a S3.

Good for 290bhp i believe.

Now I'm not sure what to do.
Hybrid isn't done a lot over here, so costs would be very high.

however, a k04 is more common.

Saw one for sale, including manni, oil line, coolant line and downpipe which looked very good.
The only thing that really puzzled me was that the downpipe had 2 pipes running off the flexi bit towards exhaust?? is this standard for S3 LCR?

but does that mean the S3 has a twin exhaust under the car? Or is it twin till cat and then continues as one, as it has a single rear muffler?

and sorry but whats a baby qpeng?

it joins to one at the cat

qpeng is a place called qp enginering. have a search. few people have used them. the do a dp BUT only 2.5 or was it 2"...?
either way it looks tiny. 3" for me

Hooch, I was told by several 'tuners' (hate that word, seems a bit boy-racer for me lol) that more than 2.5" on a k03s will just add sound, apposed to benefits.

however on a k04 023, is this still the case?

You really notice more gains with the 3"? You on a k04 S3 turbo right?

there is an extra 3 90degree bends in the dp for ko4 campared to a ko3
you do the maths

also people on here have reported gain going from 2.5" to 3". thats on ko3s and gains are minimal....BUT gains are gains

just gathering knowledge here on the K04 as it might be a route I'd like to go.
undecided now.

either get stage 2 on my K03s
go K04 023
or get the K03s hybrid (would have to done in UK i guess)

obviously benefit of K03s is that I have everything complete except map
hybrid is pretty much same story i guess, except getting turbo hybrid and map. ANd possible 3" maf i read somewhere...

K04 would be quite a bit more work.

what to do?
