Tig is very neat and strong if done properly. My mate works on the rigs welding petroleum pipes his welds are awsome.
When welded properly the weld should actually be stronger than the joining material.

Just spoken with Nigel, he couldn't have been more helpful, 
he did seem very surprised but will send a new one out straight away and he kept apologising.

you didnt use ramps then?!
BF fitted my original one, 2nd one took 1hours under ramps and the current one fitted by a m8 took 30 mins!

Do you mean standard DIY - Halfords (£30 a pair) ramp.
I fitted it lying on my back with the car or axle stands. I could never do it in 30 mins, there's one bolt on the turbo which was one of those 'a sixteenth of a turn at a time' jobbies. Then there's getting the DP out after it's been unbolted, well tight fit in there
The bf ones a different shape to the oe one tho. It took me an age to wiggle the damned thing out, but a couple mins to get the new bf one in.
OK no worries, just out of interest though, who has had their hanger on the cat section ripped off of their BF 100 cell cat. I went to drive to London a couple of weeks ago when the LCR got incredibly loud, I limped home, jacked it up and the hanger that goes into the rubber mount had completely ripped off and left a hole the size of a fifty pence piece just forward of my cat. After only a couple of months from new I was disgraced, telephoned BF and had to send my cat off to them to be repaired, they sent it back with like a double support for the hanger now. So any LCR owners here with the BF 100 cell cat, keep an eye on where the hanger is welded, it may be cracking already, just thought i'd mention it
Not sure if we are talking about the same piece:
After only a few weeks and very little mileage this happened
Decided to fix it locally and go extra safe by adding an extra plate and also upgraded the dog bone mount
As you can imagine I was not a happy bunny, BF’s solution was to pop in (3½-4Hours travelling) so they could fix it or take it off the car and return it ??????? How was I going to get the car home after removing sections from the exhaust and then be without transport for at least 3days.
Anyways now sorted and hopefully without any further problems
After reading all this, I can now understand why the Milltek system is so much more expensive. I was thinking of going for a Blueflame system, if any, as it would be cheaper but to be honest I'd rather pay more and know I have a quality product.

i mean a proper car ramp that lifts the whole car up in the air so u can stand underneath it!
no wonder it was a night mare for you!
this is why i didn't do it myself as you can only do so much with axle stands!
i understand exactly what your saying and in hindsight i would prob do the same, HOWEVER...
now my system is sorted (touch wood!!!) i absolutsly love it (especially for the price "I paid" and the performance and tail pipe looks!) and without sounding biased i can easily say i have not heard a better sounding k04 20vT engine than mine... and i have had sooooo many good comments about it!
but i guess the sound is also down to my stage 2 mods aswell as an agressive map!

milltek dont do the actual down pipe though do they? they just use the original one then there system starts with a cat then usual cat back system

ive looked on there site and there is no mention of the dp and the picture of the set up has to inlets to the cat! meaning they use the standard downpipe
