Just take the damn thing off.

Or just loosen the bolts enough for you to be able to slide the cover off. Least that's the way I've always done it. :shrug:

i just take it off only 4 bolts done it that many times now lol wpuld be good to open air filter up without taking strut brace off but how often really do you open airfilter up?

I have strut bar made by omp and with that it's impossible to change air filter without taking off the bar. I change my filter every 10K, always dirty. It's too small for tdi's air capacity...

i take the airbox out in one piece past the bar , makes it easy to reseat the filter too , without it falling into the box and u put the lid on
