If my car was still in the bodyshop then I would have had a good think about them bumpers! Wouldn't they be too wide for my car because of the arches?

I had a chat of bloke from Grant Motorsport last year at Castle Combe and he just ripped into my car saying Ibiza's are crap, get a Mk1 or 2 Golf and do the mods to that etc.... but he was using a standard Ibiza for track and then 2 Mk2 golf's one of which broke down on track. Ever since I want to be on the same session as him because I wasn't too impressed with one of the Golf's he built.

I was reading F2 Stu thread about the bodies the other day, wasn't too impressed with the power figures at 1st (before the bottom end work). But turned up to produce some good power after, the people who are running TSR are new people again aren't they? Or is it the same old people as before?

I will look into them all and see what they have to say, thanks fella. Gives me something to go on because I was getting no where with yahoo lol

Just found a new one today!

Since fitting my battery and the stack gauges I have (volt meter being one of them). Driving to the ring I noticed the volts would only go to 13 volts maybe 12.5volts and I found myself dimming the dash lights, switching the heaters off, etc.... to save the battery so I know when I stop I be able to start.

And I know when the engine is running it should be 13.8-14volts easy because of the alternator.

Anyway the past 2 weeks I haven't touched my car, just left it sitting there all wrapped up under the cover but the passat decided to say bye bye to the intercooler! So the Ibiza wouldn't start, charged the battery up in the shed placed it back in and happy days... started 1st go!

Driven the car about 15 miles, stopped at the petrol station had some girl comment on the colour (us kiwi owners know what I'm on about ;)) went to start it and nothing!!!! :censored:

Managed to bump it in reverse on the forecourt lol. Got to the missus house waited 20 mins and the car started 1st go :confused: 2 hours later and it started again :confused::confused: Next morning (this morning) started 1st go, okay problem solved itself!

Got to work, finished work and the car wouldn't start!!! Would hear the fuel pump but apart from that dead! Volt gauge reading 12 volts and did all the night before so bump start nothing got some jump leads and it started.

Thinking alternator as gone, ordered one from the factors on my way home but said I might not need it. I wanted to do a few tests;

With a multi meter checked when the car was running:

The battery 14v so the alternator is doing it's job and I remember the volt gauge is coming off the ignation live.

So the car carried on starting 1st go after this and then it went dead, thinking it's the 4 awg cable I used the 0 awg cable of my jump leads instead for my live wire and still nothing.

Checked with the meter again (when car was not started);

The battery 12.8v
D. Block 12.8v
Alternator 12.8v
Starter Motor 10.5v

Bad connection! So removed the connections to the start motor got a file to the connection to clean them up, refitted them and guess what??? She started straight away! Even better for the 1st time since I fitted my gauges the volt gauge was reading 14 volts! :D

So all it was down to was a rusty connector on the starter motor.

Sorry for the life story but may help someone one day [B)]

So I know what I'm doing tomorrow and thats removing all the connections and cleaning them up! :D

I be doing that tomorrow don't worry. My passat is f*cked to the intercooler as gone so I was working on the both, once I had enough of one I would go back to the other and then swap again lol.

haha that's a wounder, the intercooler just packed in? or just leaking?

glad the ibiza's sorted though :)

leaking a good one, the bot of it had split from the plastic so thought i could tap it back wiv a hammer nad punch, worked until to had full boost. Then the pressure pushed it out more. If it's expensive then a universal (sp) fmic could be on the plans lol

I wouldn't worry about Grant...a few guys from my site have used him, and there mates etc and no one will be using him again!!
