Hi, Im thinking about one of these kits for my leon as following from my MOT the top mounts are sh@gged so might aswell fit a new kit whilst in the process as its a mod i had planned to do. Has anyone got either fitted? what are your views? Am i right in thinking weitec come on 30 or 50mm drops and the KW in 40mm so what would the expected drop be?
Cheers
Adam

Hi, I was looking at kits that DPM sells and it looks like he does both weitec 30 and 50mm and the KWs for the LCR. Im tempted by the weitec 30mm as im it was never intended for the look side of things plus it catches on my driveway as it is. Some opnions on quality, comfort, handling of kits would be great though and if theres any other LCR fixed kit options let me know.
Cheers

I have just had this hit fitted and v chuffed, sits nicely, ride comfort is better then expected on a lowered car and even goes over the local speed bumps......ish.

Strangly enough and I didn't believe it either before I experienced this myself but....
After lowering car 25mm front and back I don't catch speed bumps more than I used to and same with the steep inclines in multistory car parks. so even with 25mm drop or fitting a 40mm drop kit you shouldn't catch these any more than now

they are both the same company, i found out kw have discontinued the springs i have so not sure if there is new ones out at a different height.

I have heard the same but then surely something must be different to increase the price £100

Theres your answer then, I doubt you would notice the difference and £100 in your pocket is good for other mods or Beers

Both Weitec and KW do kits for the LCR and these are the drops you'll get...

With the Weitec 30mm kit you'll see about a 10mm drop

With the Weitec 50mm kit you'll see about a 30mm drop

With the KW 40mm kit you'll see about a 20mm drop

At 30mm drop on a LCR your arches will be level with the top of the tyre.
Unfortunately the rear wheel also moves forward and looks a bit odd.
Can strongly recommend a 20-25mm drop, looks good and handles very well with little splitter scuffing

I've recently been looking into this and the KW 40mm kit seems the best option if you don't want to go too low. It comes in funky colours too!

Cheers guys, still slightly undecided, kw or weitec??? Think il end up with weitec and hoping the £100 difference isnt anything il notice on there actual performance although 20mm drop would be perfect i think looks wise but 10mm realistic for my drive, gf's speed humps and car parks.

I have the kw v1, Damian at DPM is very nice bloke and easy to deal with, looks good in my opinion and handling is fantastic. Havent been in one with Weitec but my humble opinion is, "I like mine", picture in signature is with the suspension so you can see the drop. Cheers
