Yer i have seen the kit on there, looks interesting!

Why doesnt anyone use the IHI turbos anymore?

Remember a while back hearing alot about IHI conversions and a few people had it but now everyone seems to use GT28 etc

I agree, I've seen one go in the flesh too and it FLIES! I can only assume that people don't use them any more because the cost is around about the same as the Garrett conversion bu I think you may be able to get more out of the Garrett. Not too sure what flanges the IHI use but maybe they're not so easy to get fabricated...who knows - best asking JabbaSport on here - they had the first ever IHI Ibiza I believe.

More prblems today :(

Basically was driving yesterday and i hit about 5k revs in 3rd gear and all of a sudden car lost boost and started back popping (similar to TCS but this was off!)

Now the car is misfiring quite bad when i rev it on the spot and its popping etc and if i try driving it it is jolting and bouncing lol

Basically undriveable!

Vagcom'd today and these were the codes

18010 P1602 Power Supply (B+) Terminal 30 Low Voltage
16885 P0501 Vehicle Speed Sensor Range/Performance
16804 P0420 Catalyst System,Bank1 Efficiency Below Threshold
16795 P0411 Sec.Air Inj.Sys. Incorrect Flow Detected
16621 P0237 Turbocharger Boost Sensor (A) Circ Low Input

From advice on here it looks like the map sensor is at fault now

Loving the daily problems of cupras lol

Sometimes get a week of driving if im lucky!!

Heres a photo of some winter neglect

After seeing some white salt staines though i just had to clean it!!

Dear God, you scare me lol. I'm very tempted to do a very subtle boot build and have a hidden tool kit just in case we have any problems ;) [B)]

Got hold of a couple of new gauges today

I got an autogauge boost gauge to replace the existing one i had

Matches the oil temp gauge now so no more odd gauges

Also fitted an anti-buzz t piece for the boost gauge which is awesome!!!
No more dancing needle on the gauge now lol

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Then i got hold of a Volt gauge which is in a dash pod cheap

IMG_0145.jpg

Thinking of mounting it on the dash in a subtle place, maybe next to the Nomad pillar pod ?

I was going to sit it in the centre of the dash above the heater vents but the pod sits a little high for my liking.

Berg,

That looks like the silicone is almost not supposed to go there and the aluminium seems to be popping out, first thing I would do it buy myself a decent reducer with a couple of hefty clamps. Shouldn't be popping out like that! Good luck once again bud!
