Bit more progress going on at the minute
Currently maaking a gauge holder for my wideband, it will replace 1 of the centre air vents (one on the right).
So far i have a cardboard template which fits absolutely perfect in the vent.
Ive got an old cupra r gauge holder which im going to use to make the final piece as its got the hole already there etc, after drawing the template onto the cupra r holder it will work perfectly.
Also if later on i decide to remove the other vent to house another gauge i will be able to make a second one out of it too!
It will be carbon wrapped too just for the extra touch
Then next Friday the downpipe is coming off to have the boss welded on for the wideband.

They have come really well!! What did you use, as i have used so many different products an none of them seem to make a difference?
I used Autoglym Interior shampoo with water and a soft sponge, worked really well
looks good berg just got some autosmart brisk carpet cleaner to do mine now with all the seats out with it now in jakes paint shop good job mine are grey centers, does anybody now of any weatherproofing that can be used to stop the water marks getting on the seats
The water marks are a nightmare, annoying how easy the seats stain and mark.
I'd be interested in knowing that aswell!
Got some more of the gauge holder done today
Not finished yet though as i need to do some slight trimming to the edges so the vents will go back in
Heres a quick run down of what its like though

Then i cut it out of the cupra r holder and trial fitted it in the gap

Really interested in that gauge positioning Berg, I've run out of room and need so many more gauges . I have the Autoglym interior shampoo, tried using it on my red seatbelts and it did sod all :'(

i put red seatbelts out of a mk2 in mine same cannot find anything to clean the muck out of them tried fast flash thinners did nothing

After seeing pictures of someone else doing it, it look as if the gauge would be pointing upwards too much but once your sat in the car its actually in a good position.
Im going to be removing the other vent too now to add my volt gauge
wasnt planned but i broke the vent surround today and now the vents are loose lol
As for the cleaning, i even had ink stains on the passenger seat and its faded them alot using the AG stuff, i guess it depends what the stains are, for normal grime/water stains etc it worked great for me
Ive heard vanish is good stuff to use, never tried myself though

Ive order some 0.5mm thick alluminium sheet to do it instead now and it will be mounted in front of the vent gap now so it sits flush with dash rather than behind how it is in the pics.
Undecided weather to just do the 2 gauges, 1 for each vent or just cut the middle bar out and have one plate there with 3 gauges.
