front end is all off, bonnet is out of line and def needs a new bonnet lock, new rad as snapped at leg where it was dismounted from its brackets, strange considering slam panel seems fine and there's no paint damage to the front, maybe those surrounds saved it as the pressed plate is looking a little bent!
thanks for asking hun:)

If the bonnet is out of line, the catch is naffed and the locating brackets for the rad has been snapped, then the front panel is highly likely to be bent.

trouble is they're £75+vat for a pattern one, but if someone else is picking up the tab, who cares:)

Stu,the locating brackets are in place and not snapped and yes the catch is well naffed and has been taken out,may be able to get a slam panel from same place the rad should be coming from and other bits, all from an 8v gti, will post pics in a bit for your expert verdict;):D

as for himself paying for it, it'll be a case of me fronting it first and getting it back whenever :(

Just to note they'res at least 3 different front/slampanels for different sized rads. choose the wrong one and it may not fit:) (long its off another 8v without ac then should be no probs)

Oh well, at least the labour is cheap:)

mustn't call Suze cheap haha:D that's not nice! Seriously appreciated that you'll help us hapless females in sorting it out[B)] panel pics etc are uploading or attempting to as we speak....

No problem, I'm a sucker for a damsell in distress and easily bribed:)

Yeah, that should work out being off the same year and without AC, if not I'll nick something off the Ghetto GTi and drive home with it being held together with gaffertape:lol:

lots of elbow grease for many hours then i cheated and daddy called in a favour from his mate who blasted it with some engine cleaner, strip the knickers off a nun i think that stuff could!:) he does a lot of work on black cabs and uses it on them i believe, not sure excatly what it is though..

at least with the battery off, headlights and rad/fan out i can get to the areas i couldn't before so will be doing a bit daily i think, may as well make the most of the inconvenience!
