i'm out of ideas AGAIN on this one. Why do i end up with the problems that just don't seem to have a resolution?

Does anyone know of a scrappies that might sell me an n249 valve? I bet SEAT want £60+ for one, as i know the n75 is expensive too....

Steve, if it had done this all the time then maybe. But for it to .
2) Spirited Driving - BAAAADDDD. :(

Basically, the DV doesnt sound as strong as before, and it is on the verge of the "chatter" that I've been getting on every gear change. Any low rpm/high gear moves and sometimes i can't even hear the DV dump.

exactly like my experience mate, i put mine back to how it was lol, might be a blockage in the vac hoses around the n249?

ive pulled the cable from the socket of that connector and spliced it onto the other end of the cable, it is a replaceable part so no biggy really but the workmanship is crap seeing that it was originally "fixed" by a major dealer in belfast, it really makes me wonder if they replaced the lambda at all, and anyone is free to search my posts as i first posted this problem a year or more ago and I stated that i i thought it was a water damaged issue.
As for the turbo, i might put up with driving easily for a while then buy a gt2x as soon as funds allow (about 800 is from the us) this was my next step anyway. My motor hasnt been serviced by agnews (or any other dealer) since 24k and funnily enough I changed the oil and plugs a fortnight ago and this now happens, saying that it could have been getting gradually worse for a while, My job does include a lot of cold start and stop journeys so may be to blame.
ps savilles old place?

feel id say there will be a little bit but because the pipe coming out of the silencer part of the k03s is vertical itll gather at the top and run back down towards the turbo.....hopefully! wonder how hard it is to clean an intercooler out, would you just run engine flush through it or some sort of detergent, how does alloy react to these sort of things?

brendy, those pics only show the vac reservior?

Yeh, looks identical to mine, and indeed to Robdon's too (from previous pics of his)

The car is driving me nuts now. Really don't know what to do.

Glad you're getting somewhere with your problems tho. :) Probe socket looks knackered - damn garages eh?

I'll try and get my video up later - hopefully it'll work this time.

the socket has 4 pins one of them was actually broken off too so they fooked a minor job royally, im thinking of going to them showing them the pics and asking for some sort of closure on it.
pabs where does the actual n249 valve sit then? i was under the impression that it was connected tothe vac reservoir.

i done mine a while back , used a litre can of gunk poured in swished it about and let it sit for a few mins , rinsed it out and redone it posibly 3 times until clear water ran out ,

As far as I know mate, the N249 is the valve at the front of the engine.
Looking at the engine, to the left of the dipstick and under the plastic shroud/cover thing. Under that is a metal plate, and screwed to the underside of that is the valve. It looks very similar to an N75. Follow the hose along the front of the manifold, and then along the rhs of the engine before going up and into the dv.

pabs what was happening whilst driving spritedly? lack of boost? slow response? just curious

Any kind of serious boost, be it from low rpm/high gear, or just planting the right foot from say 30mph, the dv very almost chatters. You hear a far quieter dump than normal too, and in some cases, NO dump. (Which worried me BIG time - if its not dumping where is that boost going? Back through the turbo no doubt)

I'm not a happy chappy at the moment, I don't know what to do. Do i go and get a replacement n75 and/or n249?

Still getting no errors on vag-com, so that's not helping. I don't know what else it could be related to, and i don't know who to go to, to ask about it.

Anyone got any suggestions?

if i had a spare id run it down to you:(

fingers crossed it gets worse enough to trigger a vagcom fault.. least its then fixable.

youve tried disconnecting the battery to reset the ecu? weak idea i know.

cheers for the thought tho mate - appreciate it :)

Did a battery reset recently. also did a tb alignment. Gonna do another tb alignment just in case, and to eliminate it from my, er, "enquiries".
