Certainly have mate. Its an interesting subject. The torque rating went up from 240Nm on the Scirocco to 250Nm on the Cupra. Its the exact same box, it’s just the software limit.

I've spoken to Revo and APR(Awesome) and they can both get past the software torque limit..
The other good thing both companies offer is switchable maps and unaltered Flash Counter (if the dealer see's the ECU has been flashed multiple times they may cotton on).

If both give you the option to set the car back to standard if you know you’re going to be stuck in stop start traffic or other clutch intensive scenarios just switch back to standard. Save the faster map for weekends :)

True mate, at the end of the day people who buy the ibiza FR, Cupra or Bocanegra are not going to be having it remapped for the fuel economy gains now are they ;)
So as you said - come saturday, whip out the map switch, turn on the software and go and have some fun!

With the APR map its done off the cruise control so its even easier than that! They have more than one map. Normal fuel, 99 Ron standard + other features. Its a nice little package.

At the moment I'm still getting used to the power, I've only ever had 1 car and that was a 90bhp Pug 306. I'm sure once I've gotten used to it I'll be looking at the options u've been mentioning if they ever become available. AndySpencer's Leon was a beast before his remap, but after it was something evil, so I know the power a remap holds, the questions are on the DSG box. What is capable of safely handling. Last thing I want to do is spend 17 grand on a car, tune it, ruin it and be stuck with it.

We shall see.

£17K? Didn't pay full list did you?

;)

Who would go and do a silly thing like that?? ;)

Ive found out to get the Red calipers ie Seat Sport ones made my AP Racing , you have to add the Sports Brakes option which is like 1k+

Reason being its the price of the brake upgrade + Another alloy wheel , the standard 15inch spare steel wheel wont fit over the brakes

I rang SEAT UK about this and I can confirm you DO get a full size alloy wheel replacement in the boot. So cost of 4-Pot AP racing brakes + Alloy for £1100 is still a lot of money but makes it slightly better value :)

interesting read about the map and torque limit of the 7-speed dsg box, as far as I was aware APR were developing/have developed a method to eradicate this if you are wanting a serious power hike however this is likely to cost a lot of money, more so than a normal remap...

This car is going to be bloody expensive I'm already looking into KW V3's at £1200 supplied

Huge power isn't something I’m personally interested in. A normal stage 1 will be nice eventually.

For big power they were looking at uprating the clutch plates but as you say this is very expensive. Even Seat garages won’t open up the 7speed DSG. It will cost ££££s!

The software side of things doesn't seem anymore costly than a normal stage 1 map. You can already get a map for 7speed 1.4 Scirocco 1.4TSI. APR's is 205BHP (I think) and Revo's is 217BHP. Both with a higher torque rating than the standard 250Nm.

yea be a result matey, also booked mine in for stone chip film protection when i pick the car up well worth having as got this on my leon saved it no end:D

Hi Stu,

What does this involve & how much does it cost?

hi jamjar, The place thats doing the work for me says around the £300 to £350 mark but all depends really on how much you would like done. Think what they plan to do is get the car templated first for patterns because at the mo there isnt one as so new, then fit to the car the film is venture shield .I do have this product on my leon and as i said really is superb:D

Absolutely stunning mate. Just out of interest you wernt in the preston area yesterday where you? I saw a red one parked in Lostock hall. Slowed down to just drool at it :).

Got Froza 3 the other day. It’s got the new Cupra on it. So obviously I got a white one and painted the front to make it look like a boc :)

I then went on my favourite track and set the best lap time I could. Its in performance Class D. I then raced the ghost of that lap against a VXR Astra, Civic Type R (new shape), Clio 197 and a Integra DC5. The only car I could beat the lap in was the Teg. I know it’s not real life but the power to weight ratios etc are all accurate. Was good fun. I’ll have to post a pic up tonight.
