Now this is a surprise guys! After just reading, 225-Cupra-R-04's, last post it appears that there is either one rule for one
dealer and one rule for another or it is just luck of the draw which
dealer you visit?
Today I phoned a different
dealer after my initial warranty claim for three new 'R' badges was rejected over the telephone. Refreshingly, the
dealer I called today said it should be no
problem. I was honest (as honesty is always the best policy!

) and told him that one
dealer had already said no. The aftersales/parts manager said in view of this he would check with SEAT UK and call me back. Later this afternoon, he phoned me back and confirmed that SEAT will change the badges under warranty, the even better bit was that I also mentioned that I have a flaking gearknob (paint peeling round
badge at top) and he again said that is also a warranty item so a nice new one of those is also on order for me free of charge, result!
After learning this today, if anyone is in a similar position with their corroded badges I would be more persistent with the
dealer or phone around if you have another
dealer within reasonable distance.
I am really tempted to call the other
garage tomorrow and query why they refused my claim when another
garage was only too happy to
help, might be a bit of an embarrasment for them!
