race with bmw m5 (thought they were menna b fast)

so what we got here the LCR is faster than speed of light, sound and easily surpasss a 0-60 of of less than 2.5 secs...its so faasst theres no recording equipment that can log it, catch it and you'll never hear it as its gone so fast (thats if you ever saw it arrive in first place!) further away from you that you just have to take it as fact...

Rather than saying its impossible or saying people are full of **** look a little deeper and look for actual RR'd runs on the model of the m5 in question. I had a dabble with a 4.5L cerbera and i was told it was impossible for me to beat it but i had. After a little research it came to light the average 4.5L cerbera was 320-330bhp and 270-275lbs ft on the rollers and that TVR's power figures were highly optomistic.


M5 on a recent Pistonheads RR'd day actual bhp being 290bhp.

well here is my 2 pence worth.
I work for a bmw dealer and own an LCR and i can safely say that the M5 would have left you for dead.They are just so much quicker.you would have probably kept up untill the M5 hit 3rd then it would have been bye bye i'm afraid.

have a episode (think it was driven??) on video
where they road tested a E39 M5 against the clock against a last generation supercar (Ferrari Testarossa)

they V boxed the M5

0-60 in 5 seconds
0-100 in 10.1 seconds
just shaded the low mileage Testerossa that was offloaded from a trailer

a little faster then the average LCR (remapped or not)

i actually couldn't care less whether it was a real M5, if it is genuinly slower or if the LCR is the fastest car on the planet. What bugs me are these type of threads in general. Sorry, i find them a little far fetched and just a bit too school-yard.

You do realise you're just digging a deeper hole for yourself with regards to prosecution don't you? The IP addresses for every message are logged and I'm sure the admins will quite happily co-operate with the police if asked.

There's a difference between going over the speed limit by a few mph and claiming to do twice the legal limit on the public road whilest racing someone. I've never claimed to be innocent, but as always, there's a time and a place for speed. It's not just speed that will kill you and other people, it's the misappropriate use of it and strangely enough I put doing 140mph on the road a misappropriate use of it.

If this was on a proper race track (rather than a "private road") I couldn't care less what speed you got up to, but as such you're putting other people's lives in danger. If you want to kill yourself that's fine, but if you're going to involve other people then you seriously need to consider whether you should be on the road at all.

No doing 80mph on an empty motorway with no other traffic is completely different to doing 140mph whilest racing someone in populated area. I'm taking the logical assumption that it's a populated area as I've never seen traffic lights on a motorway. You're quite welcome to correct me there if you really feel the need.

Ask anyone who's spoken to me and they'll tell you that I've always maintained that it's not speed in itself that will kill you, but the misappropriate use of it.

Anyway, if you want to continue this arguement then I'm quite happy to, but not in this thread as I don't think everyone wants to see our petty arguements.

It's pretty difficult to hurt someone by going too fast. It's when you hit something that the problems start, if there's nothing to hit then there's no problems.

There's plenty of place/times where the speed limit is still too fast but you aren't breaking the law by sticking too it.

I drew the same conclusion, that it was in a populated area. Especially as there were 2 traffic light in a fairly short distance. Don't know what distance you need to hit 140mph but it can't be more than a mile(?).

someone off another club i frequent actually got arrested for a post they made about breaking the law in there car, the police even went round there house with a screenshot of the thread in question.

It does happen, and it was a real eye opener, gotta watch what you say on the forums.

There are some quality people on this forum, enthusiasts wanting to share opinions, ideas and thoughts with other like minded people about a car/cars they have in common.

Then there are those envisage the Leon in one format or another as some supercar slaying animal, able to beat all sorts everywhere. The only difference between them and Saxo-boy with his 12 inch exhaust is depth of his pocket.

I agree with you, I never speed in built up or busy areas but you were looking from the legal angle in your previous thread and in that case breaking the speed limit is breaking the law at any speed!

sorry there is no way a remaped LCR would keep with let alone blow away an m5 and im not biased as i have an lcr, its just a different league, even if you went to town tuning an lcr with a big boy turbo ect it still wouldnt blow it away

U cant be prosecuted with out evidence u were speeding, and as u only have my word that i was speeding i could easily be lying therefore this isnt really evidence that would hold up in court.
