No I'm not saying I never speed unless I'm on a track, but racing up to 140mph on the road is just acting like a retard. And yes, the time and place is a drag strip if you want to race in a straight line, or a circuit for non-straight line looning.

I have taken a car I owned, with a few friends, to a RWYB meet at Santa Pod and ran it a few times up the strip. I didn't do it again because I find there are other things I enjoy more - i.e. track days.

I drive like a d*ck some of the time. No where near as dangerous as a few of my friends, but when i'm in the mood I put my foot down. I have also (not for a few years now) raced cars off the lights. Its not something I brag about - but i'm not going to have ago at this guy, because its something that not all, but alot of us do.
As far as beating M5's, I think its completly possable. Whilst mucking about with the ex GF at the lights once, her 1.4 polo got infront of my 2.0 16v Ibiza (I suck)
At santa pod I beat a WRX scooby over the 1/4 in the ibiza
We are not talking about 2 pro drivers\racers here - we are talking about 2 chumps having a blast from the traffic lights - anythings possible.

Is there not somewhere else that u can take this slanging match instead of a public forum?Yes we all enjoy quick driving(otherwise forums like this wouldnt exist),but as was commented earlier there is a time and place for it!!!I have a 5 month old son now,so my driving is a lot more sedate now,but still like the occasional blast when in the car myself.
i agree with you there is a time and a place for driving fast, i just dont think you have the right to comment on wether my judgement is correct as u were not there at the time or place that i had the race. In my opinion it was safe to do so and as no one was hurt then turns out i was right.Reg said:
