Dan, like you say mate can't do any harm doing another compression test, but it soundn't make much diffence if the engine is hot or cold.
Would be interesting to see if there is any difference though mate, might help you with the fault finding.

From what you say about the vvt it sounds very timing related to me, pop the rocker cover gasket and check the cam chain there should be 16 rollers countable on the top run of the chain (starting from and including the one above the arrow on the bearing caps and including the last one above the arrow)

Heres a linky incase i never explained it well - http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=240036

Let us all know how you get on matey.

Thanks graham il have a look tomorrow I've done around 100milea in it and once the water gets to 90c on the dash its kinda sorts its self out.
.
But today I thought id try full boost in 2nd and the tcs kicked in and t popped really loud then it ran lumpy as **** and spluttering so pulled over and a quick check so couldn't see anything then unplugged the msf to get home now...

I've plugged it back in but the Tcs light is on all the time now along with the eml light...

My tc and eml came on when I was over boosting like mad and going into limp mode, so doesn't necessarily mean your mafs gone I was getting maf faults, saying it was over reading, crappy take turbos fault, can't see this being your prob though as I doubt it would cause misfires

Haven't read all the posts, but have you done a cylinder leakage test ? And did you do a compression test dry, and wet ?

:hide:.................................Sorry.

Yes Dan, line the mark on the pully with the mark on the pully cover and the cam pully mark with the mark on the cam cover then look at the cam timing arrows and make sure they line up with the marks on the bearing caps, then count the rollers beteen the marking and there should be 16.
