replacement bulb for auto meter

Just fitted my new boost gauge today, but tbh, the bulb in it is crap.
Not very bright and more pink than red!

anybody know if a replacement bulb can be purchased that is brighter and more red?

ok i have found this but it seems a bit of a pricey way .and looks like it will have to come from the states.

looks like a 501 wedge bulb, is it the same size as side light bulb?

not sure. but i do happen to have a couple of spare side light bulbs somewhere. looks like i will be digging them tomorrow and having a look

it is the same as a side light buld! i feel a bit dumb ;p
just order a wide angle red led 501 bulb for a whole £1.50

get in there!

I was just about to offer one for free (the price of a stamp) as I have a little bag of assorted wedge bulbs through trial and error, ive decided to use a bright white bulb instead.

it should do i use led bulbs and find they are alot brighter

The leds need to be as wide a light throw as possible, if its a narrow beam itll not light the gauge up as much.
