let the tyres down so they were flat, then managed to slide pieces of cardboard inbetween the rim and tyre... masked off any still visable areas

Looks really good Stefan, the colour goes very well with the car.
Have you managed to get all 4 done yet? If not, put the 2 you've done on 1 side then you can have different wheels each day by parking it the opposite way on :D:D

Hi Stefan

Did you get the wheels finished..... I have just got some 18" RS4 wheels this week and am trying to decide whether to do a refurb in silver or anthracite....

yep all done now, went with red calipers after trying to decide a colour.... will try and get some pictures up today but imo looks very good and has slightly changed the apperance of the car, makes it look more dark.... other little mod, the centre console around the aircon radio etc has been sprayed silver. brought a cd/dvd player off a mate, he wrote his car off and only charged me £30 for it so it will do for the time being. its getting two new wishbones and o/s bottom ball joint this week and then hopefully its mot within the next couple of weeks although not due untill august. Finally got a new job last week ... so things are starting to take shape....

next plans,
Fit cd player
Black vinyl roof
back lights (got a little idea)
downpipe back exhaust
colour code rub strips (been saying this for a while tho lol)

thats it for the time being i think

tom (BKR)--- are you off to the derby meet on wednesday???

cheers

valeter, good job atm better pay than was expected so thats a plus, its for ijc car sales in louth... amount of cars that are sold is ridculous sometimes 5-6 a day,,, in the week and half iv been there hes sold no less than 2 in one day...

want to as iv got to go nottingham 1 day this week to stay at my grandads one night to help him get his stuff ready to move house in a month or so.... but it depends on work whether i can go or not, have to work till quite late some nights to get new cars finished, so couldnt make it after work and dont want to be asking at this early stage if i can leave early, il give you a txt tommorow evening and let you no whether or not il be able to go... if not then il get my name down for next months.

i brought 2nd hand mk4 springs off the bay, they said 35mm, its prob between that and
40mm,,, just measured from centre bottom of the wheel arch to the floor is 64cm front 64cm back... these figures would be useful if i had the standard measurements to hand lol. But someone who is on 18's and not lowered should be able to give some info
hope this is useful

cheers

Cheers mate, the only reason i ask is cause i bought a lowering kit of ebay, the jom ones and they said 40mm, this consisted of shocks and springs, the back seems nice and low how i want it, but the front doesnt seem any lower, and they must have settled in by now as they have been on 4 months, i dunno whether to just get a set of 40mm h and r springs or 50mm? so change the front springs for h and r and leave the back as it is, think thats the plan :)

just looked on your thread and noticed the back was nice and low but the front slightly up. possibly got the wrong springs up front... would be carefull about putting minus 50mm's up front incase you have got the wrong springs atm and then it drops to much and its a little to low... how much did the spring and shocker set up cost out of intrest... iv just looked on dpm perfomance on here and seen the weitec coilovers at a very resonable price... if i cant find anything much better in that price range, might splash out this week and get them

Yeah it is bugging me that the back sits nice and low but the front don't, I'm thinking just get a set of 40mm springs and change the springs on the front and see from there :)
