Would need some form of plastic primer, either that or sand it smooth first, then plastic primer, then colour, bear in mind it will wear off over time though.

Cheers Mark. Not done much stuff like this before so wasn't sure how to go about it. I've seen a platinum grey spray paint with a can of lacquer that comes with it, would it still wear off if lacquered? Obv I will check the colour code first to see if it's the same shade as bodywork.

I'll just give it a go and see what happens. Can always get some replacements off ebay if it goes wrong!

Got my fascia adapter for the head unit today, small little mod but makes all the difference :) much smarter inside. Red hose and coupler for air filter arriving tomorrow, then a full service at the end of the month (really needs doing :s ) and new tyres as soon as I get paid. Slowly taking shape :)

Nice one. Fascia adapter looks really oem aswell, I forget it's not part of the dash! Blends so well.

Good stuff on the other bits and service. The car will feel alot better.

It does blend very well, for £3 delivered I'm happy.

Hope so mate. Was running a bit crap tonight, felt like it had lost power. The roads were wet but it felt slower without spinning the wheels. I've also noticed even if I have one passenger in the car it slows down quite a lot, more than I expected. Still, it needs a service end of! Hopefully things will be smoother after that, I've also got warranty up to a grand on any parts that may need doing.

I find this too mate some days it feels quicker than others. Dunno if its cause of act's or what but its defo not just me!

Ambient temps affect these cars alot, mine felt a bit slow this morning, been upto local SEAT garage to order a few oem replacement parts in ;)

But it's a trait of these cars mate, one day can feel ridiculously quick another the car has other ideas and wants to hold back. Alot of factors to consider, main one being ambient temps in terms of day to day difference, especially if your car is running the standard SMIC's..

But seeing as you need a service, that'll help alot. My new spark plugs, oil filter, fuel filter and oil really have smoothened mine out, hard to explain but I can feel it. Also starts up so quick with fresh NGK plugs.

It makes me sad :( I keep worrying somethings up with the car. This weekend it felt rapid and today it feels so sluggish, just like you said it's like it's holding back. At least it's not just me! I also noticed I can hardly hear the exhaust today, but at the weekend it was pretty loud.

Welcome to LCR ownership ;)

It can be up and down mate, but for me it's more up's than down's. Have you got vag-com or a fault code scanner for VAG cars of some sort? Could always check the car over, but if not just check under the bay for any loose connections/plugs not even plugged in..

Believe me, my car was not boosting a few weeks ago, and me and my mate even logged it out doing 4th gear runs, the car was boosting like 12psi... We we're baffled, there we're no boost leaks causing it and no fault codes being thrown up. However, my N75 was unplugged!! One right near the DV... Plugged it back in and the 4th gear runs showed requested boost being met by actual FINALLY... Back to 23/24psi.

Sometimes you scratch your head too much, when the whole time it was as simple as a plug disconnected!

I've looked on ebay for a vagcom a few times but never got round to buying one. It's definitely something I'm going to get very soon.

On a different note, I saw on the car history that it's been for a dyno run but the results aren't in the paperwork I've got. Wonder what it got  and why he even got it dyno'd without getting it mapped at the same time?

Good idea. Even a basic fault scanner off amazon aswell as ebay for 20 quid and under is a good thing to keep in the car. If you suspect something is very wrong or have a random EML light come up, you can scan it there and then and see what's gone or loose etc.

Regarding the dyno, does it say where and when? If you have this info, give them a call! I'm sure it'll be logged on their system. Double check paperwork, sometimes I fold things up a million times and chuck it in my car folder, does get a bit unorganized.

I dyno'd my car last year while it was standard mate, purely to check what it was running from day one and what base I had to work with. I'd think of it as a good thing rather than have a dodgey remap on there which might be a pain to overwrite elsewhere.

Pretty sure it was regal autosport in Southampton, but I'll double check when I get home and I'll give them a ring. What numbers did you get from dyno while totally standard?

Yeah worth doing, post up any figures if they have some from your car down there.

Mine's a 225 and made 210bhp 1st run, 212bhp 2nd run and 3rd run 211bhp. Torque figures we're 204, 202 and 207 lb/ft to correlate with the bhp runs... These runs we're done last March and it was a fairly humid day.

I wanted to see what the car was kicking out from day one, all I had done before the AmD dyno was put some v-power in it.. But the car had been sitting around for ages, needed a service, needing running in and opening up a bit on long stretches ;)

Now it's kicking over 280bhp and 307 lb/ft.. However I have since had the 3" Badger5 TIP go on after it made 283bhp, and these are PROVEN gains in airflow! So I'm excited to think it could be running more. But remember it's how it drives on the road that counts.

AmD rolling road day is this Sunday, so it's going back on the rollers then. Did I ask you about the meet and if you could make it??

That's a big improvement, hopefully I can get something like that eventually too :) You mentioned it yes, thanks for the offer mate - unfortunately I've got plans this weekend. Might be an idea for me to do the same then, I really want to know what it's getting at the moment. This regal place is probably the closes place to me as well so I may book it in while enquiring about the old dyno run :D

You can easily get 225bhp or near on what your car is meant to be running if it's maintained well with good oil, good plugs, fuel and oil filters changed at the right times, and the car is run on good fuel of course :)

v-power only in mine, but tesco momentum 99 is good too. It will all help on a car like this.

Uprating the TIP, air filter and uprating the bosch diverter valve to a Forge 007p for example can make a big difference to the way your car will drive. I notice with each thing I've done to mine I've felt a difference.

No probs about the meet, maybe you can make the summer one in August.

Not a bad idea to get it on the dyno now, just to have that base for you to work from so you can look back when it's mapped and flying one day and think how slow it felt, lol.

The difference in torque for me on the motorway now is just incredible, really can't believe how much it pulls towards the horizon and feels like it doesn't want to stop!!

The one in August sounds good! Maybe I'd have a bit more to be proud of then too ;)

Tesco momentum for me, right by my house. I think I'll be doing the diverter valve next (apart from service/tyres) and the tip at the same time. £140+ is a crazy price for a bit of silicon though :( Then all it needs is red hoses everywhere, a remap and then an intercooler for summer!

Hopefully I have decent results like you did, it certianly sounds like a different car once stage 2'd. It'll be interesting to see how the custom code remap works out for me compared to your amd.
