Service today. Got rid of the magnetic sump plug because I thought it was leaking after re-using it so many times, but the leak seemed to be coming from the transmission, but gears are fine. Ordered a new fuel filter holder as mine's seized and the screw head is rounding. So many things I do that don't really need doing, and if I sell the car, nobody will care about those things, but I just... need to do them.

Before I forget, does anyone know what tape to use to fix this on? Bought a door off Thai and have been meaning to swap this door strip from my old door to the new one. I've got some foam 3M tape, but need the strip to sit flush and I think the 3M tape is a bit too thick.

very strong weatherproof tape like you say 3m, one part of mine lifted as it looked like accident damage repair before i had car,i used that Butyl tape but even then the original was really strong and im not sure if it has clips as i never checked when replacing locks

had a look and this comes up and the 3M VHB and looks really strong https://www.3m.co.uk/3M/en_GB/p/c/t...diwyzSeHQBziMCCQv6rH5pHJg9_Ke3KUaAo1mEALw_wcB

MOT passed on Thursday!
One advisory for surface rust on subframe but it ain’t too bad underneath to be honest.
He let me get under and have a look and poke about.
I mean its not going to win any awards for a mint underside but its still solid.
I may invest in a professional underseal yet.
I need to find somewhere though.
I had my old grey one done years ago at a place that used dinitrol. Really good, they strip liners out etc, scrape off any loose surface rust then apply the new stuff.
That just dried like sticky black tar though.
My current Subaru Legacy I had done when I first got it with a product called corralon or something.
Great stuff, it ain’t gonna rust but when the weather is hot it drips from a few places under the car. Don’t know if he just put too much on.
Ideally I’d have it all stripped, painted and clear put on but it costs a lot.
I’ll weigh up some options, ideas or suggestions welcome!

I stripped all the liners and heatshields from mine, wire brushed all the surface rust then painted vactan on to any areas that needed it, once it was dry i coated everything with dinitrol, that was over a year ago now and looks nice underneath still, it deffo pays to do a bit of treatment on them with the age their getting to.
