MOT is always a pain but this time I got to give them a good tip in the jar :)
They told me the car could be (or not) having a wasted inner tie rod. In fact, when braking I felt like a pulse on the brake pedal, like a bent brake disc or one side braking more than another.
So I went for it and took off the right side tie rod. The picture speaks for itself - left one is new and is stiff like a rottweiler and at the right you see that totally loose old piece of tie.

Now the car brakes better without vibration and no more clunk noise during bumps on the road. Just need a wheel alignment (second this year) and good to go win the MOT.
Note: Changed both sides and go for Lemforder ones.

Evening all.. right ... there is some clever ones among us.
Just wondering. Does any one know the dimensions for the centers of the lower arms.

Not me, I'm an idiot. But I do have a silly amount of data

Balljoint centre to front LCA bush centre - 395mm
Front of front LCA bush to centre of rear LCA bush - 340
Don't know balljoint to rear bush centre

Also.whats the wheel base. Center to center if anyone knows

Sorted out my power steering issue & now it's booked in on Saturday for test drive & braking diagnosis 🤞
It's fully insured again, so hopefully once I get this issue fixed, get 2x front tyres, I can get it MOT ready.
Maybe, just maybe we'll hit the roads again this summer 😎
What was the power steering issue solution?

At first I didn't know it was the power steering, just a nasty whine from the serpentine belt area, but all looked fine so I assumed it was the alternator/bearing.
After checking underneath, I noticed a slight fluid staining on the rubber gaiter & so checked power steering fluid. It was low but no obvious leak. I've topped it up full, bringing up the level after each use & everything has settled with no loss of fluid & no noise.
I'm baffled why it has evidence of some possible leakage, but it could also be from the doughnut who did my brakes as he fkd so much up, that he could have done anything.
Either way, it's functioning as it should with no leakage (at the moment) & so it's something I'll keep a close eye on & once up on ramps, ask the dudes to look out for any split hoses etc.
