pd130 will map to 160-185ish from standard :) Go for a 160cupra and look to be closing in on 200bhp i guess. More likely 180-190 :).

Common mods

mufflerectomy... (no boxes just exhaust pipe) (cheap job and sounds good IMO)
FMIC if you dont get the cupra, panel filter and that will do :).

Good cars, probably wont feel as refined as your LCR though, and the power will tail off quickly without a remap if your used to petrol :). Mine picks up like a valver at 3,000 RPM to the line, before it would be dead lol.

Car handles alright, but rear 20mm spacers and arb make a huge difference... lowering would be brillient.

Yeah i was guessing it wouldn't be as refined as my LCR, but you can't have it all. I need something thats going to munch away 700miles and week :cry:, but still be fun at the same time.
Will defo be remapping and improving handling aswell i think, cheers for the advice.
 
i do the miles in mine, with the mods shown it pushed 185 before i replaced the turbo for a garrett. keeps you on your toes if you want some fun i guess. suspension is hard and road noise isnt the best! but if you listen to music road noise doesnt count, just go over speed bumps gently lol.

Also theres a certain red ibiza PD130 which isnt on here anymore that ran a 0-60 time of 5.0 seconds at GTI International :whistle:
 
Ibiza fr tdi- 183.9 bhp and 292.0 ft lbs of torque, Angel Tuning, if your rev happy the diesel will feel weird mate, generally speaking (for my remap anyways) max torque will hit in around the 2000rpm mark, and max bhp for mine is at about 3600 rpm, which tails off quickly after 4k.
 
Driving a tuned diesel is very weird compared to a petrol. I drove the certain red one (fastest diesel and seat at GTi Inters 09), in first gear planted it and you need to change almost immediately! Once your moving though its totally different, you don't get the same feel as the build up of revs as with a petrol, soon get used to it though. Its what I'm getting next anyway!
 
I think you'll miss the sound of petrol if anything, that does irritate me at times to be honest, but you can't have it all!

The biggest difference IMO is the power delivery! Im used to redlining my 1.6 upto 6.5k, but in the diesels when the power starts to tail off around 4-5k, very different if your not used to it!
 
As said tuned diesels are very different to petrol's drive wise. is very fun showing people up that are not expecting it as well.

I'm now running 270bhp and 406lb ft but all depends how much money you wont to sink in to the engine. Cheapest and easiest way is a remap as most have which will see 170bhp and a nice wave of torque.
 
I have driven diesels in the past as hire cars for work when i've needed to travel.
I thought they were ok to drive, but owning my own is a choice i would have never made if i didn't have to cover an extreme amount of miles.
I just don't want a big, heavy moochey diesel, i want something i can play around with and have abit of fun whilst owning it. A car for all occasions, good economy, good looks, cheap'ish to run and maintain and tunable.
Its still a toss up between and Ibiza and an Audi A3 S-line, but swaying to the ibiza because i'll have more money in my pocket for imediate remapping.
