Sounds to me like they've over done it on the tracking - it can track straight but the steering wheel be off, which has "upset" the steering angle sensor.

Be careful, because the steering angle sensor is used as part of the ESP, so it being off could potentially be dangerous (if the ESP is activated, that is).

Cheers bud

Getting it looked at next week so should be sorted I hope, unless they can reset the dash light if they did the re-map ??

mmm I had this last week and a few weeks before, traction light randomly came on whilst driving so just turned off the car and back on, went away both times so hope I dont see it staying on like you! fingers crossed!!! and good luck fella!

just dont know what to think about mine now tho lol.

mine came on last weekend too, fault code 007758, not had tyres or tacking done recently so what or where is the sensor?

mine used to do that (intermittant) not any more, almost permanant now.

can it be done with the free software? i have the cable but no software.

No dont think you can.
I did it today but didnt fix my problem, ive got full licence.
Its worth paying the £50 for even if just to do that and your throttle body alignment. tuners charge £40-60 just to do a TBA.

Cool, had thetracking redone on Monday and spooky my ESP light thats been on constantly, today turned itself off whooo hooo and I can turn the ESP on and off again result

Just an update from me on my problem with light being permantly on.
I used jump leads to start my old run about from the leon today.
Whether it has disturbed a wire or cable while i was routing round or what i dont know, but low and behold its fixed.
Absolutly stunned but made up!!!!!!!!

On my old leon (52plate 1.4s) the steering wheel was at about 5 degrees offset from centre after tracking. Taking it to another garage for a second opinion on tracking they said it was my back axle which was out on tracking; thus causing my front wheels to turn slightly to counter-act this, and so my steering wheel was slightly turned and i was crabbing along the road a little! Solution: 4 wheel alignment at £100! Reduced my tyre wear substantially and made my steering wheel straight :)

my racktion control light comes on when the engine isnt getting enough air,it happened when i put on a small induction cone and when a hose came loose on the recirc valve.its worth a look.

Hi,

My traction control light comes on around 20% of the time. Switch engine off and it goes away. Not sure if it is in any way related to your problem ?.

Took it to garage, they couldn't find any fault. Nothing comes up on their VAG test. So i just left it. Doesn't seem to cause any bother. Been like this over a year.

Cheers
Andy

My traction control light has started to come on every now and again, turning ignition off and on clears it though so not too bothered.

Hoping to check it with VAG-COM this weekend. Better not be an expensive fault as I spent a shed load of cash getting my LCR serviced and fixed recently.
