Wot a nice read ive just had of your thread mate :)

Noticed my gear cables have melted slightly so wouldnt mind seeing some pics of your top mounted shifter as i may do that too.

Did u make that bar that youve bolted your fmic to?

Yeah ill take some pics for you tonight if I get a chance, I have the cables running through the right hand side of the passanger footwell so they are well away from the the exhaust/turbo when it is all fitted.

Yeah I mocked it all up and got the old man to weld it then gave it a lick of paint come out really well. It was actually made from an old stairgate!

me too me too.

i will have a look tonight to see if i can figure it out myself, did you just drill 2 holes in you're bulkhead?

1 big hole, easy enough too do.. did have to make up a small plate to rotate the shift cable bracket on the box.. I could of done it more central and not had too move anything but I will be fitting a 3" tip to my k04 so I needed as much space as possible

I cant actually remember 32mm sounds about right though, maybe a tad more. Just need enough room too fit the ends of the cables though.. it will all become clear when you take it appart

Sent the turbo off for a new actuator, comp wheel and to be balanced today should be back wednesday.
1 step closer to getting there!!

Just got off the phone to Mark at CRT and it turns out my turbo needs more work than initially thaught.
Turns out it had had so much play that the turbine wheel had been hitting the housing as well as the compressor wheel (which i already was aware of)
I have 2 options.. get it fully rebuilt at a very good price.. or exchange for a hybrid unit he has sitting on the shelf.. I really cant decide.

Does anyone know if I could run a k04 hybrid (for a while) using a generic revo stage 2 S3 file and 225 injectors or would it flow too much??

Hybrid would be too temting for me lol

Not sure about the map but i would defo go for the hybrid but it depends what you want really

If you can see yourself upfgrading power again in the future then you may aswell do it now ;)

Thats what I was thinking.
I will be in the future yes.. BUT i wanted to know if I could run a hybrid like a normal k04 for the time being..

If I was in your position hybrid deffo! Surely if you unplug the n75 it will be ok until you get it mapped ?

Also with the shifter on top will the centre console fit back ok? Or will it have to be on show rally slag style !

Iv been thinking about it and I am going to need..
- Rods
- Extra ££ for the hybrid
- Clutch
- Injectors
- Custom MAP

I cant really afford to do this right now so I think im going to stick with the original plan for now atleast, maybe hybrid in the future.

I was gunna leave the shifter on show.. but I think the centre console could be persuaded to fit with a bit of modification.
