I wouldn't mind splitter and side skirts either. Agree about the exhaust I might try removing a silencer in the future. Also wouldn't mind getting my seat badges sprayed black

As far as I'm aware they are not being advertised for the Cupra 300 yet. The dealer is ringing me on Friday so I will ask if its an after purchase option yet or whether they will differ from the skirts you got with the sub8 package.
I'm assuming that the skirts included on the sub8 pack will still fit the 300 so was going to buy these online. Seen a new genuine primed pair advertised on Ebay for £269 so was going to get my cousin to paint them up and fit them later on.
So true, some knob actually broke into it but must have been too stupid to steal it! Very easy to start without the same tool they probably opened it with!Lol, a GTE was fast in those days, at least until the 'joyriders' stole it!That was when we had proper motors though! Motors where a man had to set his own fuel/air mixture on a cold winters morning, and having ABS/Power steering was a luxury!
The fact we've made everything so easy is part of the reason why there's so many ***** on the roads these days.
I remember the days I had a MG Metro! I thought it was the dogs, even though it was wonky on one side due to the stupid hydrogas suspension. It eventually blew up. Turd of a car!
Even to this day I would take a mint unmolested Sapphire 4x4 cossie but prices are becoming obscene!

I remember having to wedge the choke lever on the Rover ( it was mounted down by the handbrake) with a cassette....My dream would be a Lotus Carlton or Senator 24v .... Or maybe a Jensen Interceptor... Ah well...
Nice one! I used to have to put bricks under my wheels as my parents drive was on a slope! The handbrake cable used to creak something awful, I was scared it would roll down the drive!
Lotus Carlton is very tasty, didn't they do 170mph! Proper fast barge!

It was always the E type for me. I had the chance to buy a series one for £4995 back in 1985 and what did I do, I spent the money on a 1.1 Fiesta Ghia. FOOL..........
I bet you've been kicking yourself for years! Saying that my wife had a wee 1.3 Fiesta and it went for years without fault! The ugly surface rust was the only reason we got rid! Total wee workhorse, one click in -10° up here and would start straight away! My more modern cars would've been struggling at times!

Still am mate! I still keep looking but the Series one and two cars are making silly money, but some of the series three (V12 cars) can still be picked up for reasonable money. Who knows, one day I may live the dream
Yeah, remember the press had a fit about the speed of them. Was lucky enough to drive one, was hooked and still am.

Always loved the hot hatch. I had a brand new XR2i way back in 1990. That was a shockingly bad motor. Had some quirky motors since, as I like the less common stuff and that's why I went for the Cupra. The weirdest was a 1990 Citroen BX16v GTI. Made of plastic, mainly. I loved it cos it was futuristic. It used to sink onto the ground when you parked it up. It was surprisingly quick back in the day, too. Had 160bhp and weighed about the same as a bag of pork scratchings. Hate to think what would have happened in an accident.

Not always had quick motors and not had a Cupra but willing to try one if anyone is offering? Test drove a MK1 Golf GTI when they were new but could not afford one then! Now over 70 and have a MK7 GTI. Never too old for a bit of fun
That's what I like to hear. Ditto the Mk1 GTi for me - there was a red one, nearly new but I couldn't get it. Have a red 280 now instead

Just been reading up about the Carlton, sounds like an absolute weapon. Love the idea of 55mph in first. Looks like a proper sleeper car.
Looking more closely, it looks like an old Commodore, maybe a VP? Except they were a 3.8L V6, with around 200BHP?
There's one for sale on Car and Classic for £85,000.......gulp! A lot of cash for a fast Vauxhall.

It was also sold in Germany badged as an Omega I believe. Most Holden's of that time were based on GM ( mainly Opel) platforms.
The Lotus Carlton was unique engine wise, I believe it started off as the standard Vauxhall/Opel 3.0 straight 6 , around 180 bhp, was then 'adapted' by Lotus , enlarged to 3,6 , twin turbos giving 377bhp - which was reportedly a conservative figure. Gearbox was a 5 speed unit nicked from GM's parts bin, ex Corvette I think.
Having driven boggo 2.0 Carlton's and a 24v Senator, driving the Lotus Carlton was , at first, pretty much the same, other than a heavier clutch. Until you press the loud pedal that is....
