i notice you havent colour coded your side strips, however as a man who handles most of his own mods, do you recommend buying new strips or sanding a priming my current ones?

absolutely spot on mate

I am not a fan of the whole powerflow exhaust type makes (not yours but I meant in general), or cars which have silly twin exhausts stuck on them, which clearly are not meant to be there, BUT.....

yours looks almost OEM, and is a VERY tidy fit. Well done....and it sounds lush as well:D

good job!

Cheers Jamie,

I'm not 100% happy with how far the tips stick out. I had them sticking out that far in the beginning to try and direct the soot away from the back of the car...but that hasn't worked  So I'm thinking about getting them re-mounted further back.

That sounds awesome, and like others are saying, looks a perfect fit with the rear bumper too. Will be great to hear the driving vids. [B)]

I'll try and pester one of my mates to film me going up n down the road soon:lol: You've got a PM too :)

When I have time I'm going to match my side strips with the colour of the Cupra grilles. When I do it I'll buy new ones, a complete set is about £16 from Seat. I thought about spraying my current side strips on the car...but it'd be impossible to sand them down properly if they're attached to the car.

i like the way you all go about doing a lot of the mod's your self. i was quoted £350 for getting my mirrors and the side bumper panels colour coded. Eclipse blue, i fancy doing it myself but fear i may botch it up and make it look amatuer!

£350!!!!! are you nuts, thats a rip off

Finally got round to getting an exhaust video up! It's not the best video but it gives you a rough idea of how it sounds. I love the bark noise when the engine first starts :D

I still need to get some drive by vids taken, but I can't take them on my own. I did think of strapping my camera to the rear wiper then going for a drive

I love how you walk the long way round the car so you don't get in the camera! That's the sorta gay thing I'd do too!

You know it mate  I didn't want to ruin the shot! Does mine sound similar to yours?

Mine barks when you start it up. And currently bangs sometimes too!

This is when it was on the rollers (before hybrid):

And this was just a quick video I made (also before hybrid):

I love the turbo whistle you can hear when you turn the engine off - right at the end of the video! :)

Yeah the turbo whistle is cool....bet it whistles better with the hybrid.

My car wasn't properly warmed up when I took that vid so I think that's why it sounds more clackity!

And a bit cloudy! :D

Hybrid whistle isnt necessarily louder. But then mine wasn't running right so can't fully comment, it is a more "tuned" whistle. Does sound different! Maybe a bit more powerful woosh.

thats sounds well good ibiza 130tdi. i especially like the whistle when you swicth it off kinda reminds me of an aircraft strangely lol.
should sound even better after today hopefully once wills fixed it.

It did sound good when a bloke took it from his garage the other day! :D

Altech - there's no way a video can do the noise credit. I know. My car echoes in car parks but you'd never capture that on video.

Im sure it sounds much better in the flesh.

 I like the puffs of smoke...creates a good smoke screen to get away from the rozzers :cartman:

Yep, sounds much better in the flesh. As I said before, a mate of mine thinks it sounds a bit like a Scooby!

The exhaust place where I got it fitted were telling me about fitting a 'Vortex' box to the system. Apparantly a vortex is produced in the box which literally pulls the exhaust gasses out of the engine! They sound pretty mental too. There are a few vids on Youtube of a TT flying up and down the road with a 'Vortex' fitted.

I really dont think those boxes make any difference mate. Such companies as Milltek dont use them. And 20psi or whatever you're running should show the gases out pretty sharpish as it is anyway!

Read the thread from the beginning and have to say nicely done!

Just love what you've done with the car and it's grad to see that kind of progress on it! And finally slammed it as it should be!:funk:

The exhaust isn't my cup of tea, but the more i look at it, the better it gets! And sound nice too. :)

Just sort out the side strips and rear wiper and your done with the exterior! Then you can remap it... (can't get over the fact that you have an unmapped 130:banned::))

Keep up the good work!

Thanks Renda :)

I think I'm going to match the side strips to the colour of the Cupra grilles for a different look. The rear wiper will be replaced with a Polo aero one soon. I'm going to try and persuade my friend to get his PD100 Polo remapped at the same time so I have someone to drive 2.5 hours up north with

Well at least you know that it will take you 2 hours back since you'll be going faster...[B)]

For the strips - hope it turns out ok, but im affraid it could just look like you've missed the color...

The return journey should be a lot quicker.... Although I may take the scenic route home to enjoy the power more :D

I'm going to buy some new side strips to paint, so if the colour doesn't look good I'll get them sprayed to match the car
