Has to be the Mk4 :) I like the Mk5 but there's something much more appealing about the Mk4. I've looked at all different kinds of hot hatches but I always end up listening to R32 videos on youtube

Milltek system will defo be on the cards. Unless the car I buy doesn't have one fitted already :)

Good lad! I totally agree. I think I'll go for a Mk5 next. Unless there's some lower mileage Mk4's about when I look to change. Or I'll just put an R36 engine in mine :D

I must admit, I was the same. I know R32's arent the quickest hot hatches by any means, but the 4wd was a huge factor, the other was the noise. :) I still love the noise mine makes. Got the sports cats and non res cat back on mine. Getting the manifolds done soon hopefully. Not cheap, but frees the revs up and the noise is unreal :)

There was a Mk4 in DBP with loads of good mods and 30,000 going for £9999 a while back! SOooooooooooooooooo cheap!

Happy hunting mate. The rear springs are a common thing to snap, check for wear on the drivers seat bolster (very common), full leather have saggy drivers seat bases and the most expensive problem is, put the climate control on, set it to AUTO. Both fans under the bonnet should run constantly at a slowish speed. If one or either fans stop, then spin like mad then a resistor on the fan has burnt out. MEGA expensive. New fans + labour = not cheap. Works out about £300 for the fans alone I think! :)

Cheers for the info mate :) I think I'll join R32oc soon and swat up before going to view one. One thing I do remember reading about are timing chains snapping and costing huge amounts to fix!

vRS wheels will be up for sale after they've had a fresh lick of paint :)

Another question...
How hard was it to fit the exhausts?
and did you get it done in a shop or did you do it?

cheers

I designed the exhaust and then got a custom exhaust place to make it. They said it was a hassle to make due to getting everything centred. It fits easily enough though

Before the de-modding began I persuaded my mates to take some rolling shots of my car. The ripped me at first (there not into cars as much as me!) but when they saw the pics after they thought they look quite cool. Anyways here are the pics,
