Yeah very pleased!
Though this was the second attempt!
I had to start COMPLETELY from scratch (bare metal) as whilst baking in the oven, brake fluid seeped out and ruined the paint. I was so gutted I nearly gave up and spent £160 on new recon callipers but after seeing the quality of the ones in stock I decided to persevere!
This time I decided to remove the pistons, all fluid, seals and rubber boots till after baking to ensure this didn't happen again. Also it means you can get a better prep/finish around the piston aperture. To keep the internals clean I cut discs of cardboard the same diameter as the first groove the rubber boots sit in and pushed them inside which creates a good seal.
After removing the cardboard disc.
I found that one of the pistons was damaged so I replaced it with a new one from Big Red and also replaced the rubber boots and inner piston seals with a new genuine VW kit from the dealers.
The handbrake mech lever was masked up and painted after baking the silver paint.
