The 20mm rear spacers might be slightly too big though, as a bump in the road will most probably make the wheels hit the arches.

so might be going for 15mm at a later stage

I have decided that I am getting rid of the Laguna FMIC setup and going for a better front look. I am getting an IC similar to the THS/universal one many on here are using.
And as our original piping is, well, quite horrible in diameter, I have decided to go the S3 route.

Picked up a second hand bargain

I'll be buying the new intercooler end of this month, but still doubting between core sizes +- 530 x 140 x 65 or 530 x 180 x 65. What you guys think?

So as this route costs quite a bit on hoses, aluminum piping, clams and ofcourse the IC I decided to get started on something which costs nothing.

After an hour in the shed

do you know that your polishing off ceramic from that boost pipe?

your intake temps will increase

hooch

yeah I did figure that, but I'll be sticking with the k03s so will I really be seeing overly high temps on custom stage 2 at approximately 1.5 bar boost?
Plus isn't there plenty of others who have done this?

I guess its because the eye wants something too?
As said, I think, that this would be more so a problem with people running big turbo's creating far higher temperatures...

I was thinking of welding a pipe where the muffler is now, and connecting that to the turbo. would it be wise to heatwrap the part where they meet?

damoegan, will have to check if I can make the meet. I would really like to, but still not sure when I have off from work. If I have off at that time, then the missus will probably want to go somewhere (which has nothing to do with cars haha)
If i am still working then, I might take off the Friday, and drive over in the morning. Need to check how long the drive is to Malpas though.

Little update which was well needed:

Since I fitted my coilovers, I no longer had top bearings which created the most aweful sound when turning at slow speeds. Made people look constantly.

So took about 45 minutes today, to take both side of the front off and place the bearings. I also greased em up as the guides show, and I treated the thread on the coilies with a good coat of copper grease.

Worked out really well and drives much nicer now. Clunk sound is gone :)

Getting several packages in the next couple of days.

Got my first one and looked a little like this:

intercoolerroutemijn.jpg

the rest of the pipework which is in plain vieuw next to rocker cover will be MIG welden, as I want it to be one stretch, and no silicone.

This will run from turbo till out of vieuw behind bumper.

I opted for all aluminum piping as there were the same price as silicone, and its got slightly better flow
