Doesn't surprise me too much. They were always going to want someone with money behind them, no matter what they say about having good sponsors. As much as I hate to admit it (not being a Shedden fan), he'll struggle to beat Shedden.

Exactly. Race for race the Vectra was much faster and much more competitive than the Civivcs. Admittedly VXR has more behind them than TD but all the same.
If Chilton cannot find a single race win in the whole of last season and struggle to beat Shedden when Chilton was in a car that was so much better than the Civic, how likely will it be Chilton will do the same in a Civic?
