HELP!
I know nothing about engines really I think I've got a boost leak, Between 3000-4000 RPM it kind of boosts, then stops... then boosts again, then stops then boosts and then continues without a problem at "What feels like" 3/4 boost.

How do you source a boost leak? What pipes could cause this?
It originally would just "Boost" then Drop boost and carry on fine but it seems to be getting worse and I don't know why!

I've recently had a forge TIP fitted and a remap on the same day. Ever since I've had this stutter.... think its the forge tip?
How do you detect a boost leak tho?!

Ignore the siggy, I'm driving a 20VT Cupra now (Its an 07 Plate.)

Is it more surging than leaking? Sounds like an N75 value problem, maybe be not fully pushed into the new tip or on its way out? Leaking would just be a constant low boost i think.

Infact check that all the valve are in place correctly if you've had a new tip the there are about 4 valves to check, N75, DV, a big black round one,

Normally remaps will boost to say 1.2 bar then tail off over the rev range.

Im not sure if I'm honest.
The way it feels is like 1-2000 rpm not alot 2000-3000 rpm large power
3000 drops to 4000 then 4000 onwards feels like its half as powerful from when its 2000-3000.

If you catch my drift :S

I have similar boost issue on my newly aquired Cupra as well. I had it on my old Leon Cupra, and after swapping out N75, problem was resolved. Not sure on the ibiza though, as I believe the previous owner has already changed it once.

Not sure on the N75, bought the cupra from the dealer,
They dont have much history on it to be honest, I dont think its the remap. I think its meant to be a pretty powerful remap but Its not meant to hesitate (Drop) boost.

I'll keep the N75 in mind.
The fella's coming over from the remap place (The ones that mapped and fitted the TIP) and he's going to have a look tomorrow so thats a plus. Hopefully he'll find the problem if not I'll ask for the VAG logs!

Have you had any luck in finding thre problem yet mate?

I've stuck up a thread with my logs - certainly looks like I've got a leak somewhere - just trying to locate it now :(

Hi Pabs!
I've not managed to solve it yet however I took it to my friend at the Seat Garage and he suggested one of three things.

1. Have it mapped out (Peak Boost drop)
2. Harder spring in the forge 007P (Going to try a yellow spring for free)
3. Better Boost Solonoid (I think its called an N75)

I have a Jetex Cone filter on the way so I'm going to wait for that, Take it out for a run see if it makes a difference.
If not I'm going to replace the Spring, Take it out for a run... If not I'll be buying a better n75 boost solonoid.

a "better" n75? The best one is the standard one on the car....

If yours is faulty, then I understand it should be replaced, but everyone on here suggests only a standard is used - the aftermarket versions didn't really help the issue.

Let me know how you get on.

I've heard the same, Thats why I dont really want to swop the N75. Spring first.
I'm going to forum ***** it up and see if anyone's running a different N75 and borrowing theirs for 20 minutes so that I can run it up and down the road ;)

Combination of a few things for myself.
Stronger spring required in my 007P and a newer stronger N75 boost valve.
Its still there but no where near as apparent

Interesting - I've put a WEAKER spring in my 007p to help reduce my problem :p

MBC next I think.

MrNorma - out of interest, what map did you have, and what did you replace it with?
