Infotainment 1988 update

That's just installed on mine yesterday. So far, the infotaiment was pretty buggy this morning, but seems to have sorted itself out now. I've lost ACC, Auto-Hold and probably a bunch of other features. Have tried a reset this evening, but yet to properly test. Hoping it's a case of just settling down.
Otherwise, I have it already booked in with a dealer to get some other warranty work done.
I'm currently on 1989.
The car however was previously stick on 1790, had a software update manually installed using ODIS and carried out 3 OTA's. (ODIS can't install the newest version.
Gotta go back for the SOS module to be updated too as it has signal drops. However that was already expected we just needed the OTA's to install first.
Previously my infotainment was almost inoperable Slow, Crashing, Unable to connect to the app, Unable to install OTA's. This version works almost perfect however the proximity touch doesn't work currently not really concerned as it seemed pointless anyway and will probably be fixed in another OTA. Although I will ask about it.

That software is even older than mine was, It likely will have the same issue as mine. Too old so OTA won't function properly.
I'd advise leaving it set to ESim on for a couple of weeks.
If that doesn't work you'll need to have it updated manually via a dealership or someone with the ODIS software.
I don't recommend using software downloaded online as I've seen people use that and lose features as it wasn't correct for the car.
The SOS module will also require an update.
I need firmware work with 1672, i tried 1899, 1940, non of them works.
I think I should upgrade to 17XX first, if you have one.
Nope, when the software is as outdated as yours it will require a professional to carry out an update as even if you could update the infotainment the TCU also requires an update which requires ODIS otherwise you’ll have faults.
@East Yorkshire Retrofits knows about it better than I do.

Well the firmware is held together by sticky tape in the evo platforms or feels like it, so fiddling with it yourself seems prone to errors. The hobbyists have pulled out of mib3 since much of it is now locked down, so backdoor methods aren't there, so if you mess it up, you got to pay someone to sort it out. That's on firmware not on the other updates like radio icons and maps which are user allowed and files provided. Firmware off limits to unauthorised meddling.
I'd just take out a connect services license if I had one of these cars and deposit it on the dealer when it went wrong. Similar to mib2 standard from reading posts upgrade routes dont officially exist and as said higher up you need a retrofitter to change trains. Within trains you get over the air updates even if you dont have connect services and dont hide yourself. Fiddle with the security which people said to do to stop that pop noise means you dont get the free firmware updates or radio icon updates. So if I had one of these cars without a connect services license in Europe where connect services are offered I'd set the security level to myself as me and not go into hiding as people suggested. Bad idea. Get the telematics box sorted out that was generating the pops. That was the 2020 issue that bubbled on for a couple of years. Seat / Cupra were slow to sort it out, so they were all popping at the same point in the road

You need a specific update, it’s 2 updates in 1.
It leaves the unit on 18xx. Then you update again to 19xx
Your car will require several updates. It’s not a DIY job. Visit a dealer or a specialist
